Dr. Eugene Young Rhee, MD

Having having my issue for many years and seeing my other doctors including 2 other urologists, he wants to treat me like my issue began today. He says, we'll "keep monitoring it, if it gets worse then make an appointment to come back in." He gets irate when you ask why his diagnosis is different than a prominent urologist you've been seeing elsewhere that he claims is 100% wrong, He becomes defensive and lashes out. He makes odd references and questions the other doctors motives and character because they do no agree with him. Rhee seems to be lacking knowledge of more recent research in urology. He has no knowledge of the facts and new recent about the authority medical literature and research on my problem. Further, when I reference facts and research from authority medical websites written by doctors and other urologists he doesn't deal with the information. He shifts the conversation on what my insurance won't cover vs. providing honest facts of my medical condition (the purpose… of my visit, not an insurance consultation). I didn't go to him for insurance information. If I can get a newer treatment that will fix my condition and greatly enhance my life (not the limited by the lousy Kaiser Permenente insurance system) obviously I would consider paying for it. He's just a rude, arrogant and seemingly self absorbed person who has a fragile ego. He becomes defensive if you're not the typical "know nothing" patient who doesn't question anything (e.g. have already spent months researching your condition and consulting other urologists).

Dr. Rhee is a very personable and informative doctor. After explaining my problem, he knew exactly what to do to solve my leaky bladder. I had my prostate removed with the robotic device. I was still leaking and had to use at least one thick pad a day. I had never leaked before the operation. He said I was the perfect canidate for the advanced male sling. I had it installed two weeks ago and I haven't leaked since. He is a very busy doctor, but doesn't give you the impression that he is rushing you. He sat and listened to everything I had to say and discussed at length what should be done. He explained the procedure fully and I was very confident in his skills.

Surprised as to the amount of time and information dr Rhee gave me.. Maybe because he has a nice blend of humbleness with professional expertise. I felt he gave me much in the way of options and he was very thorough with my history. Far exceeded what I find with doctors in general.....

Dr. Rhee said he had read my chart, but then he started talking about incontinence. I told him a few times I don't have that problem, but he didn't seem to get it. He has a very cool haircut, and I think he's impressed with himself. He spoke to me as if he thought I had trouble hearing, or comprehending. I think maybe he was covering for the fact that he had no idea what was going on.

I found Dr Rhee by word of mouth.. apparently he's well known in urology and well liked. Thats really all I ask for...He's really personable and overall my visit with him and his staff was exemplary. I recommend him to all my friends

I heard about Dr Rhee through a coworker who swears by him. My friend told me it's worth the wait and he never gives the feeling he's rushed. I called his office to verify they have my referral and the office staff was most gracious and friendly. They confirmed they had and even told me the day. I have had a longstanding problem with a leaky bladder from surgery awhile ago and he came highly recommended. The day of my appt he was on time and really easy going. I felt very relaxed and happy to have finally met him. He listened to my problem and was so enthusiastic about helping me!! I will give an update as to how things went! The best doctor ever! Kaiser really lucky to have him!

I've been in Kaiser for 23 years and I must say that Dr Rhee is the best doctor I have come to known. He always has a smile and gives me such a positive experience after my visits. I'm very fortunate he's my urologist.

My experience with dr Rhee was truly a blessing as I had so mmay troubles. He came across to me as compassionate and knowledgable. Great doctor!
