Dr. Farimah Farahani, DO

she actively dismisses conditions diagnosed and treated by a doctor in the area 3 times now. she refers to my debilitating pain that’s been on going- symptoms untreated for years now as “your frustrations” she told me the breast pain i was suddenly experiencing at levels high enough to complain about was “typical woman pains” and i was to just get used to them… over a year later im still dealing with the problems/pain but its much worse- turns out theres a cause. finally getting further imaging and hopefully treatment that’ll bring relief soon- only reason that moved forward was because rhe nurse checking me in sisted on an exam being done. in 2006 a surgeon kindly chose to remove my appendix during a separate procedure so i wouldn’t have to wait in urgent care or the ER to rule out appendicitis anytime i experienced a cyst forming or bursting. she refuses to prescribe anything for any of the pain or discomfort. a new birth control has been prescribed but i’m apparently supposed to… suffer and miss work and quality time with loved ones while i wait the 2-3 months to see if there’s any improvement. i’m being forced to continue to suffer due to the lack of compassion and quality of her medical care. she’s worse than some of the horror stories i’ve heard about male gynos in women’s support groups. My previous gyno actually followed up and checked blood work in a timely fashion. especially if she knew there was some form of suffering involved. she made sure i was cared for and had access to the things needed to remain somewhat comfortable and able to sleep during the times symptoms became problematic. this doctor does not provide that quality of care and even forgets to place notice for follow up appts based off of bloodwork she’s ordered. i had to make a separate appt to address the lack of follow up care. lost time out of my work schedule to address the same problems. again. one positive thing- she did introduce me to the pelvic pt. that therapist allowed for a major quality of life improvement. i am thankful for that. UPDATE as of today I now have lost income due to have to check in to urgent care- and now am losing work and time due to needing surgery. something that could have been avoided or dealt with prior to it getting to this point had she not actively dismissed me speaking to symptoms being experienced... last year.

Extremely disappointing experience with Dr Farahani. She has a very condescending attitude, with no patience to listen to your concerns. Even trivializes them to an extent you feel it’s silly to even mention them. She dismissed my concerns, failed to diagnose an issue on time because of this attitude and did not provide solutions when they were so easily available and diagnosable, and at a stage when they could be fixed. If you ask many questions, or ask them again for clarification, she will make you feel as if you are ignorant. If you do your research and ask questions, she will make you feel as if you are not doing the right think by “questioning her skills and experience.” In either case, you don’t stand a chance of being heard by her.

She induced my stressed baby .i was sent to hospital because my baby was monitored stressed to Virginia hospital .She said my baby isn’t stressed anymore and I told her may I go home but she said your baby may die at home .Them I told her is my baby stressed if so do the c section right now but she said I must have to induction because you have chance of delivery .no induction and delivery is long process it may give my baby more stress.she said I must try vaginal delivery first .let me wait my husband do monitor my baby .she said we can’t offer this room to you and wait your husband.she induced me put balloons in and reversed epidural at the same time saying we should make you ready with epidural.after some time I had breathing problem and next doctor came and said your baby is in stress let’s do c section I told her ok .then after the doctor gave anesthesia I had breathing problem.i told them many times but nobody even listen and respond and see me . Then I took my last breathe and… unconscious they said I had heart arrest .my baby and me came from the death .i never saw her after induction in my four days stay of hospital and I never got chance to speak with this doctor again .but when I saw my report she said if induction doesn’t work she will be scheduled for c section in 41 weeks.she is liar when I told her may I go home she said my baby may die at home .
