Dr. Francine Fumi Ito, MD

Dr Ito is very professional and takes time to answer questions— of which I had many. Her staff is friendly, the nicest and most accommodating. Dr Ito makes me feel like I’m in excellent hands.

My mother had ovarian cysts removed, and a hysterectomy at the same time. As a concerned daughter, Dr. Ito was very dismissive of my questions and I felt as if she wanted me to shush me away. She really should learn some empathy and bedside manners, being a healthcare provider.

Dr. Ito lacks compassion and empathy. When you are with her, she is not present and is rather wanting to get the consultation over with. She is either overworked or unhappy because it reflects in her interactions with patients. I am surprised that she still has not changed her attitude despite many people complaining about her. I communicated a complaint and all she had were excuses to counter. Very irresponsible, isn't accountable for her staff. Pregnant mom's beware! Doctors are a dime a dozen. You can pick one better than this.

She is the WORST doctor I've ever had. She's insensitive to your concerns, rolls her eyes, and doesn't give any helpful information. Every appointment I've been to its literally been 15-20 seconds. She's cold hearted. DO NOT GO TO HER. FIND SOMEONE ELSE!!!!! How did she even become a gynecologist?!?! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!! Her staff is rude as well. So I guess they belong together.

My breasts began to feel very tender and painful. Not only that, I noticed the areola on both breasts were dry, irritated, red, crusted, and swollen. I was worried I had eczema or something worse. A couple days before my appointment, they were so painfully all of the above, that I almost had to go to the emergency room. I decided not to go and desperately waited to see her. When the day finally came, I went up to the window to tell the women in the front about my appointment. They seemed very unenthusiastic. When we were done going over paperwork, they carried on by talking about guys, parties, etc (very unprofessional). Anyway, I went into Dr. Ito's office and told her what was going on. Of course she was going to check my breasts herself, but told her whatever the outcome may be, I would like a mammogram. She answered back to me in a very rude tone: "Uhmm mammograms are only for women over 40. You don't need one." We proceeded by going into the patient room. She felt around my… breasts and told me nothing was wrong and that my areolas were just dry. I told her about the weird red spots/rash around my left breast..in another rude tone "that's from you scratching." I wanted to tell her it wasn't from that and explain more about it, but she acted as if she wanted to just move on. We went back and all she told me to do was put lotion on the problem. When I mentioned the mammogram again, she brought up an ultra sound. She explained to me how it would pretty much be a waste because those things only focus on a target and there was no specific spot on me. I understood her explanation, but told her I wanted to get screened in general not only for the areola problem, but for the pain in my breasts I had already said to her before! She kept trying to talk me out of it and was continuously talking to me like I didn't know better. She finally gave in to giving me the form for the ultrasound and said "their going to call me and ask why I'm allowing this" like I should feel bad for her!! Ridiculous! There's an option on the form that says diagnostic: check for pain/tenderness and she checked it so of course their gonna see a reason. This is the first and longest review I've ever done for a doctor. I don't recommended her at all. It's sad to know this women doesn't care about first impressions, especially after telling she was recommended by a family friend...

2 yrs ago I moved right after I had mammogram exam, Dr. Ito's staff tried but couldn't contact me through phone calls to tell me that I needed further evalution (need MRI). Finally, they reached me by sending a "registered mail" that was forwarded to me by US postal service. They cared about their patients.

I go for a regular yearly check up, but she was not able to diagnose me for a major medical issue, in which now, require a 2 hour surgery. I was able to find out only because I revisited the clinic after continuous bleeding. It was less than 6 months from my last check up. Also, rude office staff named Trina was trying to push us into getting a surgery done at a surgery center where I can't use my insurance. She told me that it will be cheaper to go with them, but never never trust their words. I ended up cancelling it demanded the surgery to be done within the network. Soon after, administrator from the surgery called me that they will give a discount. I declined immediately and insisted Trina to go within the network. She got upset and never called back to set up an appointment. Never go to this office. So many of my friends stopped going to dr Ito because of her attitude and lack of care. Very disappointed.

I was very unhappy with my visit to Dr. Ito. I went in because I was experiencing pain during intercourse and frequent urination. I went in for an ultrasound, which I had never had before. Prior to the exam, I mentioned that I have a history of bladder infections and that was one of my main worries. During the exam, she said "your bladder is full. Run out and empty your bladder". So, I had to remove the device she had inside of me, get up from the table, and run to the bathroom with nothing but a paper cloth on. I asked her if I should give her a urine sample since that one of the reasons I came in was for urinary discomfort. As the patient, she should have asked me do this PRIOR to the exam; that is not the patients responsibility to remind the doctor. We started the exam again and she noticed that I had a cyst on my ovary. She acted like it was not a big deal and finished up the exam. When we started discussing it, she immediately went to surgery as a result. She said it was 4cm… long and recovery would be about 3 weeks. She couldn't tell me what the cost would be; she said the cost would be determined the day of and there is no way to know ahead of time. I mentioned that my insurance has a very high deductable and I just don't know how I can sign up for a costly surgery without knowing the price. I also tried to ask a lot of questions about the cyst in general and how it affects me but she acted as though I was bothering her by asking. She was completely unemotional and unaffected by my diagnosis. It was the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. I left the office fighting tears and full of confusion. A few days later, after I had time to absorb the news and do my own reserach, I called her office and insisted on a follow up call. The front desk said I may have to pay for a phone consultation. I refused to pay and said that I wasn't asking for additional service. I was simply wanting to get the proper care I deserved from my original appointment. Finally, I was able to talk to Dr. Ito and this was the straw that broke the camels back. Once I finally started asking questions, she said "well 90% most cysts under 6cm go away on their own". I was furious! So my 4cm cyst requires surgery even though a cyst twice as big has a 90% chance of going away naturally. Had I not asked questions and requested more follow up, I would have paid thousands of dollars, taken three weeks to recover and who knows what else. I have never posted a review for a doctor but I felt the need to with Dr. Ito. Please strongly consider what's important to you in a doctor before going to her. She is dry, unemotional, uninformative, and not concerned with her patients overall well being.

my US at 5 weeks showed nothing. She cut me off when i was asking questions, and kept shaking her head. She didn't volunteer any information, so i was not sure if i was asking the right questions. I miscarried a few days later and was able to make an appt the same day. When she did an exam, she failed to explain what she was going to do before she did it, and why. I had to ask. When i asked about options for fertility testing, she told me that they cost way too much and that there was NOTHING I could do. I never mentioned anything about cheap options; she seemed very judgemental about whether or not I could afford it. I was asking about fertility tests and treatments, not how much they cost! I felt very depressed and she didn't even bat an eye. She told me to make an appt in 2 weeks and didnt even shake my hand when she dismissed me out of her office. Now i have two miscarriages and I'm searching for another OBGYN who wont treat me like I'm wasting her time.
