Dr. Francis Desmond Hussey, MD

Went to Dr. Hussey for lower back pain. He does it in steps. Nerve Block on right side, come back within 2 weeks. Any relieve? No? Let's try left side. Come back. I have has 2 nerve blocks with no relief. If it didn't work on one side, why do the other side? Just had a epidural on the right side. Come back in 2 weeks. I feel like I am being churned like in the finance industry. He won't do shots in the office. it's always in the surgery center where I have a $150 copay plus 20% co insurance. Why can't he do an epidural on both sides in the surgery center when I am there? Why do I have to make 2 visits? I'll tell you why. Money! I've been to orthopedics who for a $20 copay give me a cortisone shot (albeit for temporary relief) on both sides at the same time. None of this come back for the other side in 2 weeks nonsense. I've wasted time and money. I will tell him when I see him in 2 weeks!

I worked with Dr. Hussey for eight years as his RN in the OR. I have seen the results of his work. He has performed over a million interventional procedures. He is an expert in his field and extremely competent. Patients who come from other states wait to have their procedures done by Dr. Hussey as the doctors up North do not accomplish the same results as Dr. Hussey. I have heard this many many times from the patients. He does care about his patients many whom are suffering greatly with cancer. These patients were denied any type of pain medication by other providers. Dr. Hussey is compassionate and he does care. Highly recommended!!

Went for help with pain issues. After multiple visits, left office with much more extreme pain than before ever entering the office. Dr. Hussey has an unprofessional, fast and dismissive manor. Actually wish I had my old pain back.

The only reason this guy gets a star is because it is the minimum. I was victim to several epidurals by this clown until my insurance dropped him. He charged me $500 over my insurance for use of the "procedure" room. When I found a new doctor I realized what a sucker I had been.

I have lived in Naples for over 25 years and by far the worst scheduleing I have ever witnessed. Not a clue could be a walk in clinic. Average wait 1hr. 20 Min. A joke of a office and staff. If I ran my businesses this way I would still be in Philly.

I had a terrible time with Dr. Hussey. No caring about symptoms or diagnosing. Just take this opioid in ever increasing strengths. And while you are at it take this muscle relaxer too. No curiosity to help discover what my illness was. Finally, on my own I went to a movement disorder specialist at USF. She said I had Parkinson’s Disease and needed a Deep Brain Stimulator. I was fast tracked at the University of Florida’s Center for Movement Disorders and Neurorestoration for a Deep Brain Stinulator implantation. I tested out as a perfect candidate. I have idiopathic Parkinson Disease and with the DBS can walk now. The pills that Dr. Hussey prescribed were actually contraindicated with my Parkinson’s and were doing more harm than good. I thank god there are physicians that care at the University of Florida who gave me my life back rather than simply prescribing higher and higher doses of medication that would leave one sitting like a zombie in a chair.

I would agree with all the negative reviews for Dr Hussey and staff. I experienced excruciating pain during a spinal epidural he performed and his attitude toward me as a patient and concern for my well being were totally absent. After the procedure it was impossible to get any information from him or his staff as to what went wrong with my procedure, why I had the excruciating pain and what was the likelihood of my experiencing the same pain should he do another procedure. I never heard from Dr. Hussey regarding my questions and would NEVER go to him again. There are too many other pain management doctors in Naples who actually care about their patients and are eager to work with them toward a relief of their pain.

Something happened to Dr Hussey, he is not the same doctor I read reviews on. He is rude, I could be in serious pain but have to wait one month for an appointment. He has many patients and can't handle the load he has. He doesn't have an ounce of kindness or understanding, I have never seen him smile. If he hates his job he should quit. His staff is not easy to deal with, I have never been treated in any office like the way they treated me.
