Frank R Aversano JR., MD

Dr. Aversano is board-certified in general surgery and has been practicing in New York since 2012. He specializes in laparoscopic surgery and holds certifications in Advanced Trauma Life Support and Advanced Trauma Operative Management through the American College of Surgeons. He received his medical degree from The School of Medicine at Stony Brook University Medical Center in Stony Brook, NY. He performed his surgical residency and internship at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, NY, where he was the Chief Resident. Dr. Aversano has a diverse background and actually began his medical career as a physical therapist. He worked with patients for 10 years at the Rye Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Center in Rye, NY. Dr. Aversano is an active member of the American Medical Association, Medical Society of the State of New York and the American College of Surgeons. He is a dedicated physician educator and has been honored three years in a row (2014-2017) as the Resident …Teacher of the Year at Nassau University Medical Center's Department of General Surgery.
