Dr. Frank Tobias Miller, MD

Hi my name is Kevin May! I was a impatient of Dr. Millers. Dr Millerhe help me through a very difficult time in my life. I was at the bottom end of a manic depressive phase of bipolar. The moment I met Dr Miller. He made me feel comfortable. I trusted him , treatment took time but as we progress I gradually got better, and now I'm at full strength thank you Dr Miller. I owe my life to you.

Dr. Miller has an ability to explain things logically and enough experience to be right when previous doctors has been wrong.

A psychiatrist friend of mine, who took his wife to Dr. Miller for treatment of severe depression (which was successfully treated by Dr. Miller) recommended him to me by saying Dr. Miller "is the best psychiatrist in NYC." My husband and I have been with him now for most of the year and, not only do we concur, we thank God every day, and certainly after every appointment, that we were introduced to him. In our view, he is a miracle worker. We leave his office truly buoyed, full of new thoughts and so grateful for his having figured out so quickly and competently how to treat us. He is THE most thoughtful person we know, full of facts, information and experience that make others in his field (and we've been to a lot of them) measure up as amateurs. He, now, has become the most trusted doctor we have...a position he richly deserves.

I am surprised at the negative review. To me, Dr. Miller is the "cream of the crop". Not only a master diagnostician and pharmacologist but a genius level practitioner keenly aware of and sensitive to his patients. He is the ONLY psychiatrist in NYC I would refer friends and family members to.

I did not see Dr Miller as a patient, but as a family member dealing with a patient under his care. Dr Miller seems to be a very good diagnostician and he is very direct and intelligent. His specialty is Psychopharmacology, and his background was originally in research. I see him as better suited to this field, or to diagnostics, than what I know as psychotherapy. I.e. 'talk therapy.'- While it is perfectly comfortable speaking to him he was opinionated and didn't have much interest in listening, though he clearly heard the concerns I voiced and referred to them at later dates when they were born out. He generally seemed to be overstretched for time. - I felt his greatest failing was in not properly supervising the testing regimen he asked for, and not questioning the results when there were factual inaccuracies in them. This again goes to my impression that he was overstretched for time. - I want to be clear, as I said earlier, I believe him to be a good diagnostician. He kept his… mind open and eventually came to disagree with the testers poorly prepared 'diagnosis' and moved ahead with no harm done.
