Dr. Frank Timothy Salvatore, MD

Dr. Salvatore seemed ok, a bit braggadocious, but hey nothing wrong with a little confidence. However, he scheduled a follow-up “conference” not a medical visits, so that he can tell me about his personal exercise routine and left me with a YouTube link after being in the office for five minutes with him. I later get a bill totaling over $300, half of which I’m responsible for (the amount is just due to my insurance). However, the fact that they schedule unnecessary and irrelevant follow-up visits so they can charge the insurance and/or patient, is borderline unethical!

I would not recommend Dr Salvatore or the skylands urology group (now North Jersey Urology). I went to this Dr for a rising PSA and he treated me for everything but the possibility of cancer, finally after 4+ mos and my PSA still rising he did a Biopsy and found I had prostate cancer and it had spread to the Lymph Nodes. Basically he took the biggest threat to my life and dealt with it last. I would recommend Garden State Urology in Morristown that's where I am now and that's where I should have went to begin with

I was seen by a urologist who took poor (and painful)imaging of my urethra and told me I would need a serious surgery cutting out a section of my urethra. I went to Dr. Salvatore who was hesitant to jump to such a conclusion. He re-did imaging w/ anesthesia and was able to do a minimally invasive incision to scar tissue resolving my issues while also meaning less cost, less risk, and less healing time. Years of practice allowed Dr. Salvatore to come up with a plan that fit me specifically, including intermittent self catheterization that prevented my scar from closing in on itself. If you read on google it will tell you the success rate of this procedure is very low- nonsense. If you listen, Dr. Salvatore will fix your situation and make your urinary system function better than you ever knew to be possible. If you go to NJ urology, request him. If you go anywhere else you are making a mistake.

Dr. Salvatore has no respect for his patients. 3 visits...avg. wait time 1 hr. for each visit. My time is valuable too...I don't care how competent he may be, if he shows me no respect, he's not the type of person I want caring for me. No thanks Doc...I'll find another.

Based on my experience I believe Dr Salvatore is a very good Dr with good skills. I think that's the most important item as far as any measurement. On the negative side of things - he is not the best communicator. Seems rushed and doesn't provide you with all of the information. Be prepared to always wait an hour for office visits. I personally find it frustrating since it's like making a dinner reservation and then waiting in seating area for 60 mins before your table is ready. You can hear him talking with Staff and rushing around but you just sit there. Good Dr ...sometimes poorly organized.

I have been a patient of Dr Salvatore for 18 to 19 years. He has always looked at my conditions. Has always explained them well. Did surgery only when necessary and showed complete concern and care for me. I can honestly say his professional medical guidance has saved me from having major medical issues in the future. I'm a patient forever. Thanks doc. You're the "BEST".

I have been a patient of Dr. Salvatore for a year and half. He is not only an extremely competent and knowledgeable physician , but he possesses qualities I have rarely seen in doctors. He is genuinely caring and has a way of putting you at ease and making you comfortable being at a doctors office for a serious health problem. He seems to calm my anxiety , he listens , and puts my full faith in his efforts to treat my condition. Every medical field should have a Dr. Salvatore.

I take my 90 year old mom to Dr. Salvatore. He showed interest in her condition from the start. He is caring and compassionate. He always explains everything very carefully and fully in layman's terms so I understand what is going on. He has gone out of his way to make my mom comfortable during her office visits which I am grateful for. Thank you Dr. Salvatore for your help.

I've been very happy with Dr Salvatore. I had a flow problem that he fixed with same day laser. I'm very happy with the results.
