Dr. Fred Cushner, MD

Dr. Fred Cushner is an AMAZING PERSON & DOCTOR. He never judges his patients by a textbook. But as a person and treating their medical conditions. He goes above and beyond for his patients. Always puts my mind at ease. When I am worried. I suffer from severe rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. He did my total knee replacement on my left knee April of this year. I know that my right knee needs to be done soon. And Dr Cushner would be the one I pick to do it. I am very blessed to have him as my surgeon. When so many doctors didn't want to treat me. Or suggest I go out on complete Disability. But he did and kept his word on making sure I would be just fine. Just trust him. I have a daughter that is about to graduate from high school soon. And Dr Cushner has given me hope again. Were I would be able to sit and stand at my daughter's graduation. In the past I wasn't able to go to my daughters performances at her school. But I can say come June 2024. I will be able to go to my daughters… graduation. And see my daughter walk a cross the stage. DR. CUSHNER THANK YOU. YOU ARE A TRUE BLESSING FROM GOD.

Dr. Cushner completed my total knee replacement after multiple doctors told me no due to a rare birth defect. Not only did Dr. Cushner successfully complete the surgery, he was kind, answered all my questions and went out of his way to accommodate my 5 hour commute to his office. My knee is already noticeably better than before surgery and I’m so excited for a better quality of motion and of life! Thank you so much Dr. Cushner!!!

I have to give Dr. Cushner credit for giving me the treatment that saved my life, hyaluronic acid injections. Before I received this treatment I was taking 1,800 mg of ibuprofen a day and thinking about suicide because of the pain. I had seen two previous doctors who did nothing for me. However, Dr. Cushner told me he was a surgeon and I should be followed by someone else because I didn't "need" surgery. He referred me to someone who didn't take my insurance and who didn't really do anything for me and this was a waste of money. He should have referred me to other specialists in my network who could have further evaluated me. I'm still seeking further diagnostic clarification because I know there's more going on than the knee condition that Dr. Cushner and others diagnosed. I need treatment for bursitis and possibly a spine condition. I have now seen 8 doctors and am still seeking answers. Dr. Cushner I believe is in thrall to the insurance companies and doesn't want to do too many… in-network referrals or tests because they don't like that. This is the state of medicine in the US today; doctors are terrified of these corporations and the power they wield. If you are young get out of this country while you can.

Had a fantastic experience His office is great Already on the mend

I wanted a knee expert and found a great one.Took the time to explain and tried non operative treatment first.Did not work and then did knee replacement and all is great.I have my life back.

I had a total left knee replacement done by Dr. Cushner on Jan. 19th. He was the second surgeon I met while planning for my surgery, and his confidence in his work and caring demeanor convinced me that he was the one I needed. The surgery took less than an hour-and-a-half. I was up and walking around about an hour later. Off the walker (and off pre-physical therapy painkillers) within five days, off the cane a few days afterwards. Starting outpatient P-T tomorrow and expect to be back plodding around Central Park by Springtime. All his people are wonderful, caring, concerned, in-touch, and methodical about the care they provide. Same goes for everyone on the Orthopaedics Unit at Northwell/Lenox Hill Hospital. I can't recommend Dr. Cushner and his team, and Lenox Hill Hospital, highly enough.

A bit serious at first but as the visit progessed put me at ease.I needed major surgery and he did a great job.Happy I picked Dr Cushner
