Dr. Gabriella C Gerstle, MD

Dr. Gerstle saw my husband when he was in Bethesda West. She had never seen him prior and did not know anything about his condition or his history, nor did she question him about it. He has Parkinson's Disease and has tried many different medications for many different symptoms that we not effective and some were even detrimental. Not knowing anything about his previous care she went ahead and arbitrarily prescribed a medication. He had taken that medication previously with negative results. When I happened to see her the next day I told her all this and she just ignored my comments and left his room. It is worth mentioning that Parkinson's is not even listed under her Specialty Expertise. She had the nerve to stop and see him again while he was undergoing therapy and performed absolutely no function. I called her office and told her office manager that she was incompetent and she was never to see him again. This is why our medical costs are so high; doctors stopping by to… see patients who are in the hospital who are not their patients, performing no service and sending a bill. What a racket. I so much appreciate you providing honest feedback here. The "nay-sayer" and similar reviews are clearly written by the same (dare I say, "office staff/dr."?) as judged by the sentence structures, vocabulary level, and syntax. And, posted a number of times each! (dare I say, "written and posted in anger"?) I had been referred to Dr. Gerstle by someone I refer to as Dr. Crazy lol! One of this species is enough. ??

Any negative comments about Dr Gerstle or her staff are from people who are impatient OR don’t want to see the best neurologist in South FL. There will always be a wait time to see a great DR. There will always be HIPPA & paperwork rules for compliance. For the complaints about tardiness to appointments 1st after lunch- when I was hospitalized for migraines by Dr Gerstle she rounds at all the hospitals to see her patients before coming to her Boynton Beach office. This causes a delay at times arriving at 2pm for office appts but I’d rather wait to be seen while outpatient than wait in the hospital to see her as needed while sick. She upholds confidentiality highly so she doesn’t get into it with the patients in the waiting room about a delay- she just gets to work! As for the staff, I’ve been a patient since 2014 and have seen Judy retire, to be replaced by a very competent new head office administrator. Judy was wonderful and very competent. Scheduled all my procedures and follow ups… promptly as needed. No need for someone to bash a retired individual! Karen is also somewhat new but been around for a few years now and does a remarkable job handling patients with compassion and respect. They are great human being and it reflects on the way they are treated by their boss- Dr Gerstle. No one would be able to work for her with such care if she was not worth it!! No one is left in an uncomfortable waiting room. The waiting room has plenty of large leather chairs with TV, reading materials on any disorder known to neurology or leisure reading, candy and a perfectly clean restroom just outside the door to use as needed. Nay-sayers will always be around but they obviously didn’t need the high quality medical care that comes by being a patient of Dr. Gerstle. I’d rather have her run late to see me in the office and on time to see me at the hospital any day. The rest of the negative reviews are ridiculous and I feel sad people actually focus on these issues vs the competence of the health care provider. Dr. Gerstle is a wonderful doctor who takes time to search all avenues for causes and best treatments. She spends quality time with each patient during office visits and this makes for a bit of a wait sometimes. However it it always worth the time due to the care you receive. She is thorough and tests far beyond the basics so not to miss anything. She thinks outside the box and for unusual cases such as myself she has always tried to help me despite no help for my situation at times. She has great connections to other medical professionals within the community and will send you as a referral if anything seen on your labs or radiology is amiss or if she’s at a stopping point. She’s taken much precaution with me. I’ve always appreciated her care and concern plus valuable advice. Definitely one of the rare doctors who care about her patients and their overall health. I wish all doctors ran practices like hers- despite the wait time. I have even moved around the state and country and… continued to keep her as my neurologist due to the highest integrity, which is unfound yet by another neurologist in my search to date.

She dedicates herself to her expertise. But she has way too many patients and can't keep up. The wait time to get seen is awful. She doesn't have much time to even call her patients back with any answers, it's frustrating. Other than that she's very good.
