Dr. Gary Joseph Fusciardi, PhD

Dr. Fusciardi is absolutely helpful, wonderful and kind. Intent on listening and really understanding the complete issue.

I saw Dr. Fusciardi when I was in high school. I would venture to say he saved my life. He helped me get through my last few years of high school in a very dysfunctional family situation. I've gone on to see other therapists as an adult, but I still think of Dr. Fusciardi and some of his words of wisdom. I think he is a very good therapist, particularly for teens. Unlike one of the other reviewers, it was never suggested I be put on any kind of drug.

I was a longtime patient when I was younger... 8 plus years. He encourages parents to give extremely powerful drugs, such as depakote and lithium to young kids (6-10y.o.) and isn't interested in building a relationship with the actual child at all. I believe having him "treat" me caused more issues that later had to be worked out in therapy. Thankfully I found a much better doctor in Troy and have been seeing him for 16+ years. I do NOT recommend this doctor.

I saw him years ago, and am about to call soon for a family member needing someone to talk to. I think I still have his number in my phone in case I ever needed him again. One star from other is not a fair assessment.
