Dr. Gary N Lerner, MD

I've been going to Dr. Lerner for years but am ready to look for a new primary doctor. His office incorrectly coded my last physical and have not corrected the issue, an ongoing dispute for the last 2 months. The medical assistant (Not Marissa who is great) was a flake, disappeared and left me waiting for a long time in the exam room, never had me change for the exam, so I didn't really get an exam. The Dr. spent most of the time on the computer and talking to another facility about another patient. He asked me how I was doing with my blood pressure meds, I told him I'm not on blood pressure meds. He realized he was looking at the wrong chart! He used to call to discuss my blood test results after, not this time. I had to send an email and he sent a brief response. This is not acceptable.

Dr. Lerner is a great doctor with an awesome bedside manner. HE is very caring and very attentive. Also Marissa his nurse is incredible. I am hard patient when it comes to drawing blood (Bad Veins). Marissa get me everytime on the 1st try. Thank you!

Have been a patient of Dr. Lerner's for numerous years. Each visit I am more disappointed in, especially since he moved his practice. Time given is quite brief, annoyed if you ask questions, spends more time on his computer than with the patient.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lerner's for a number of years. For the past several years, especially since he moved his practice to a new location in Rego Park, I have been quite disappointed in the quality of my visits, very fast checkup, annoyed at any question leaves you in the exam room while he attends to other business, phonecalls, etc. Would not recommend him.

There is an occasional wait to see the doctor which I don't mind. My brother is a physician as well. He and Dr. Lerner both take their time with each patient. Sometimes that can result in slight wait times measured from the scheduled appointment time, but that's much preferable to me; as is getting excellent care, as opposed to feeling like I'm on an assembly line in which the goal of allocating minimal time for each patient is prized above all other considerations.
