Dr. Gary Mark Lourie, MD

My daughter who was three at the time suffered a horrible treadmill burn to the underside of two of her fingers, causing them to contract as they healed. After months of therapy and doctors visits where we made no headway, we met Dr. Lourie, the man who gave us hope again. I have never met a doctor who seemed so invested in my family and our little girl. I truly felt like she was in the best hands - and she was! The surgery went as smoothly as it could have, as did all the post-op care and visits. The staff was wonderful as was the facility. I am so happy to report that now, at six months post-op my sweet girl has full extension and function of those two fingers again. But it didn’t take nearly that long! She had full extension within a week of the cast being off, and full function came within a couple months with therapy. I know I’ve said it before, but I have to say it again, this man is the best around. He demands the best from his staff and is honest and straight-forward. If you’re… looking for a trustworthy surgeon, look no further - Dr. Lourie is the one!

I think Dr Lourie is the absolute best! His staff is outstanding and efficient. He's busy, but so worth the wait. I feel my hands are in excellent hands......a most competent and thorough physician.

Telephoned yesterday to schedule appt .. Was told Dr Louie's admin was not at her desk and sent to vm. Was instructed to leave vet detailed message as to why I sought a visit please pertinent information. I have worked in medical offices for 15 years, so understand process although this not ideal for patients. The next morning, Ashley Camton the admin, returns my call and begins asking me very detailed questions regarding how I found their office, my birthday date, the description of my issue all info left on the cm. I inquired if she had listened to my message; she said yes the promptly continued wanting to know the injury...again I shared I thought I had a muscle tear due to antibiotic therapy. She wanted to know the name, why I took it, what was the infection, which was due to a systemic illness which she then had never heard of the illness and began asking again what was the injury! This is an admin, not a physician nor a nurse, requesting information which is not relevant to… scheduling an appointment! I respectively shared I would not be able to work with a practice as such. Let me share this practice makes one feel uncomfortable divulging a detailed medical history with an admin as well indicates the practice is difficult to work with. Please move on to other highly qualified orthopedists in the area if you encounter this process. I did and was treated respectfully.

Dr. Lourie, his staff, and his surgical team are exceptional. It has been my pleasure to have corrective surgery on both hands for carpel tunnel syndrome and trigger finger release. I now have complete use of both hands without any pain or limitation. This is in contrast to pain even holding a cell phone and having to wear wrist splints at night to ease the pain. My family and I are grateful and thankful to Dr. Lourie for his brillance as a surgeon and his personal dedication to his patients.

Referred to Dr. Lourie as best hand surgeon in Atlanta, Ga. by well known orthopedic surgeon. He is astute and a personable doctor .He has unlimited experience in these extremities. His staff has the utmost respect for him as a doctor and teacher. The staff is very personable and qualified . They exhibit his fervor for healing sciences and patient care.

He was the 4th Hand Dr that I went to. Was the first to ex plane what was wrong.

Not only is he an excellent surgeon, but he has taken extra time to educate me about my condition and helped me understand all the treatment options. My 84 yr. old mother made an appt. with Dr. Gary Lourie for a hand problem. When she arrived, the office staff told her she had to see the other dr. because 2 yrs ago, that is the dr. she saw. She asked why they didn't tell her this over the phone and they couldn't explain. Dr. Lourie would not see my mother. They told her to go to another office so the other dr. could see her. Unbelievable treatment for an elderly patient. They wanted her to drive to the other office. I have never heard of a doctor's office being run this way.
