Dr. Gary Yoshito Okamura, MD

Dr. Gary Okamura didn’t even charge me for my visit/appointment. My insurance had expired and he was nice enough not to be me. He’s the nicest orthopedic surgeon and very professional. 5 stars!!! Thank you....Kevin

Dr. Okamura is extremely skillful in surgical technique. If one method of surgery is insufficient, he wisely and quickly adds a necessary alternative in conjunction. I would go to him for any orthopedic problem. He makes himself very accessible to his patients. His staff is second to none.

This doctor knows what he is doing and his actions reflect that well.

I had an appt on Tuesday at 345, around 420 a tech comes out tells me to go get an xray done. Completed the xray and then went back up to Dr. office. waited another 15 minutes. The tech then seated me in the room. I waited there till about 540. Doctor comes in and asks how my wrist feels. As i am not fluent in english I try to explain. My daughter is writing this review. He was very rude and tells me i seem fine. xray is ok. but i tell him my wrist still hurts. I show him if i turn it this way and that, that it really hurts. and hes like yah, but you can move it. That made me really upset. He claims its tendonitis. He doesnt even explain what it is, how it is caused and what to do to make it better. My daughter had this so she asks if the cast is provided and hes like no, u can buy that at Longs drug store. What kind of doctor is he? I think this office doesnt know the first thing about dealing with patients. What kind of doctor just says oh your xray is okay. doesnt even try to… compare it with the last one to see if there were any differences. doesnt even explain what he diagnosed me with and sends us on our way? Im really upset so I will be changing doctors. but the reason i went to him is because of recommendation. I dont know why I wasted 2 visits with him.

Awesome doctor, As an RN I've known Dr. Okamura for many years. He took good care of my shoulder, achilles, and back. He knows his stuff and he is great.

Waited over 40 minutes to see the doctor. It's like pulling teeth to get information from him. I have a fractured bone in my foot shown on the xrays. He didn't tell me any information except that it'll heal on its own. The xray shows the bone is not lined up. I had to ask all the questions to get any answers. After this visit, I decided to go to a specialist and asked for copies of the xray. They said they need 24 hours for the technician to get copies. Got there the next day and they gave me paper copies that didn't show the fracture clearly. Any person in there could've made these copies right away. In any case, I asked for the images on cd and they will be charging me $5. What a waste of time!

I have had to wait at least 2.5 hours every time I have had an appointment. so pack a snack!

if your insurance criminals are giving you a hard time.. this is the doctor you want to see because he is a righteous doctor that will tell the insurance company when you are really ready to go back to work..Dr. Okamura will back you up. He did surgery on my shoulder. He is a brilliant doctor.

This doctor does not spend enough time explaining the patients diagnosis clearly as well as what causes are associated with the diagnosis given.

Dr. Gary Y. Okamura is excellent! Before I had my full knee-replacement surgery, he explained everything in detail and answered all questions. He followed up with bedside visits and personal phone calls. He has a great sense of humor and is very kind and patient.
