Dr. Gary Jerome Sheppard, MD

Dr. Sheppard does not listen to his patients, and he is not very truthful. His staff, especially the medical assistant, is the most UNPROFESSIONAL group of people I've ever encountered in healthcare. I will NEVER, EVER return to this place, nor will I refer another person I know. The medical assistant had the nerve to tell me I can't speak to the MD, and "what do you want me to do about it?" I let her know I expected her to be professional!!! Trashy attitudes all the way around. ????????

The office manager told she and the nurse would be blocking any referrals I request per Dr. Sheppard. This is a tactic for me to get angry and storm out the office to another doctor. I feel Dr. Sheppard should tell to leave. The tactics won’t work. However, I did get m6 referral another way

Dr Gary Sheppard is the worst doctor I have ever had in my life, he thinks he knows everything, he doesn’t like to give referrals, he’s only a primary care physician, I am 66 years old and I have spine issues he did not believe me so he had an X-ray done to see if I was telling the truth before he gave me a referral and my knees are bothering me I asked for a referral to see an orthopedic specialist and he denied it , he checked my legs and told me to take Tylenol, I need to have an X-ray of my knees just like they did when I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both my knees he acts like he has X-ray eyes he’s just giving me a hard time and it took him a long time to increase my high blood pressure medicine and he knew my my blood pressure was high he is horrible and he wants me to write my blood pressure for 30 days when I visit which I never had to do in my life, he is a terrible doctor

Great with a variety of ailments in recommending specialist

Dr. Gary Sheppard is good doctor but his Office Manager is Awful. Sandy handles billing for his patients but handles the patients like a Collection Agency. Patients are already stress with bills and the medical condition but the added mistreatment shouldn't happen. One patient tried to make payment arrangement and Sandy denied the patients medical treatment from Dr. Sheppard.information She discuss patients medical payments and insurance in front patients in the waiting room. Dr. Sheppard was notified of the collection tactics of Sandy and we were she was doing job. I can only assume it doesn't matter how his patients are treated as long as he gets paid.

I've been going to Dr. Sheppard a little over 12 years with excellent care. When I started seeing him, my blood pressure was out of control, A1C over the top, overweight with a potassium deficiency. He monitored and prescribed medications to get me back some semblance of good health. He patient, knowledgeable, very compassionate and patient-focused. Therefore, if had not been for his care, I would have been in convalescent home with 24 hour care. Thank you Dr. Sheppard! You are the Best!

I visited this doctor for a physical exam, and because of his demeanor and lack of concern for my health, I never returned. He has poor bedside manner, a fragile ego, engaged in verbal sparring, and did not listen or communicate well. Although his staff advised me that my lab test results could be accessed via a website portal, the doctor chose to send notice of an abnormality in my test results via US mail; he never even bothered to call, text or email me. I got the letter 19 days later. When I called to speak with the doctor, his nurse denied me access. After I requested my records I found untrue and inaccurate documentation. This person also wanted to put me on hypertension medication; When I took the time to monitor my blood pressure over a four-week period, there was no evidence of hypertension. A subsequent doctor, found no hypertension. Please, if you care about your health, DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR; because he sure doesn't seem to care.
