This doctor of orthopedic medicine apparently does not know how to read X-ray or MRI imaging folks. I was just turned away from an appointment with this alleged orthopedic doctor of sports medicine because he and his staff don't know how to read X-ray or MRI images. This doctor can only help you if another doctor's opinion is written down. These people are apparently only capable of forming 2nd or 3rd opinions. They seriously just refused to see me at my scheduled time today after I paid a co-pay and filled out paperwork and drove 2 hours to be seen for a shoulder injury because I didn't have any written records with me. I only had very recent X ray and MRI images on a disk from my orthopedist with me. That orthopedist wasn't a surgeon but was able to read the X ray and MRI images just fine. He told me the "surgeon" I would see would be able to tell from those images what was going on and if surgery was warranted. I was told by Dr. Bishop's assistant in the waiting room in front of… other patients that while Dr. Bishop looked at the MRI and X ray images, that Dr. Bishop would not be able to form a second opinion from the x ray and MRI images I had with me and that he would not be seeing me. That's really scary. This doctor didn't bother to even meet with me. And fyi, I wasn't there for a second opinion. I was there for a first opinion. From a surgeon. After what I just experienced, I certainly don't want a orthopedic SURGEON who does not know how to read an X-ray or MRI image putting me under the knife. You're asking for trouble with this scenario folks. My other doctor was able to see a bicep tear, a lot of abnormal inflammation in my rotator cuff and arthritis in my collar bone from those images. This orthopedic surgeon could not. That's very troubling folks.

Dr. Bishop was a compassionate doctor who took the time to explain results of mri, etc. However, did not provide an immediate treatment plan. No results based on no treatment plan then he left area to Colorado. I was shifted to other staff at 54 Baker and had major difficulties with staff scheduling new apt. so left 54 Baker... Thanks Dr. Bishop!!

I went to Dr Bishop for a second opinion on knee osteoarthritis. He orchestrated conservative treatment - hyaluronic acid injections coupled with a knee brace. This gave me an additional year to prepare. I just completed total knee replacement by Dr Bishop. He is highly competent - caring - professional. He took a lot of time to explain the procedure and was complete and thorough in the follow up. Great results. The staff at his office are fantastic as well. Easy to access, pleasant, compassionate.

Perfect in every way.
