Dr. Devi has been very astute in dealing with the medical problems (senile dementia) she was presented with, and was a very insightful source of guidance for the caregivers of the patient. She related to the patient as a person as well as a medical situation, with deep insight and with an extensive base of experience and thought. The books she has written on Alzheimer's disease would be very helpful to those who are finding their way in this difficult situation. The duration of office visits are scheduled to enable her to know the patient and caregivers as individuals as well as medical problems, and it is clear that she accomplishes that ideally.

I'm motivated to comment as both a patient of Dr. Devi's as well as from my perspective as a physician. I noticed the previous patient's Nov 16th comment regarding dissatisfaction at Dr. Devi's care for benign positional vertigo-- and since Dr. Devi has treated me for the same thing, I want to give another viewpoint. I'm a former ER doctor who has performed Epley maneuvers on a handful of patients in the Emergency Department. Of course, nothing brings perspective like experiencing the ailment first-hand. When I woke up one morning last year with the room spinning out of control, I gamely made an attempt to do the maneuver on myself, and promptly vomited. I was referred by a friend to Dr. Devi, who saw me that day, even though it was her day off. Having now experienced Dr. Devi's version of Epley Maneuvers, let me say this: Of course, the previous commenter is correct, it's possible for any practitioner (myself included!) to perform the maneuvers, just as it's possible for… anyone to play the drums-- it's just that some people are much, much better at it than others. There are nuances to it that (again) anyone can learn, but it takes a while and a lot of practice to get very good at it. Dr Devi is not just good at it, she's excellent. Personally, when I wake up one morning and the whole world is spinning, and I realize I have to cancel my whole day and figure out how to get through the next few hours without vomiting or falling over, I want to go to the best person available. Based on the doctors that I've seen perform this maneuver, Dr. Devi is easily the best. The other point I want to make is that some doctors are just special, with regard to their bedside manner and their energy. Dr. Devi is one of those people. The last time I was there, two patients were in the waiting room with me, and both of them got up to hug her when they saw her, as did I. She's a healer. So, the fact that the previous reviewer gave her one star for bedside manner is not consistent with my experience-- or with the (literally) dozens of plaques on her wall commending her as "Most Compassionate Physician 2011" and the like. There are less expensive options available, but I recommend Dr Devi wholeheartedly to anyone who can afford her. She's exceptional.

I had a severe case of vertigo, and a friend recommended Dr. Devi. Dr. Devi does not take insurance and she charges an exorbitant fee. I was reluctant but desperate. I asked her receptionist what Dr. Devi would do for me given such a high fee, and I was told she would cure me. I explained that I wasn't currently experiencing vertigo, but I wanted to make sure it didn't happen again. Nevertheless I was encouraged to make an appointment. I had had an MRI so I knew that the likely cause of my vertigo was benign. I learned in my appointment with her, that Dr. Devi's "cure" for vertigo is the Epley Maneuver. This is a series of movements that relieve the symptoms of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), and many doctors, nurses, physical therapists, and EMTs are trained in how to do it. In fact, many patients can do it for themselves after watching a training video. If you know that your vertigo is benign, do not spend your money seeing Dr. Devi. I'm sure she is a talented doctor… who helps many neurological patients, but it is a complete rip-off to see her for BPPV. I wrote to her after my visit to express my frustration, but I did not receive a reply.

What a refreshing experience.

A 59 year old History teacher, I had been experiencing severe dizziness for 4 months, which left me walking with a cane,and otherwise severely handicapped, despite considerable physical therapy recommended by other neurologists. Dr. Devi, who is warm, professional and charming, performed an Eply manoeuvre on me, which remarkably, within the space of a visit, had me up and about. I have no further need of my cane and am able to walk normally, go to museums, and most importantly, live a normal life, running errands and whatnot. I will be able to return to teaching next fall with confidence that if the dizziness ever returns, I know where to get it fixed.While professional in her approach, Dr. Devi kindly had someone from her office call the day after she had performed the manoeuvre to make certain that I was feeling well. She is an excellent physician whom I would recommend very highly and without reservations.

I have been a patient of Dr. Devi's for the past 10 years. I remember the 1rst Impression of her was, " She's so young" Then I discovered she was competant and intelligent beyond her years. She Diagnoised me with M.S. When no other Doctor was able to tell me what was going on. She has treated me over the years with thourough realistic and compassion and care that myself and my whole family will be ever greatful for.The 1rst time I entered her office I felt welcomed first by the ambiance of the office itself, and then by her staff and She herself. I felt secure within the first five minutes. That feeling had continued through out the years. I have never waite more than five minutes past my appointed time. I love everything from the Music that's playing when you enter to the warmth of the staff she herself and her wonderful theruputic dogs. I will be seeing Dr. Devi for as long as I need to.

Doctor Devi is so easy to talk too. At most offices I feel rushed and get the impression that I'm just another patient. Dr. Devi took her time with me. I found her to be thorough and realistic.

Dr. Devi is one of the most spectacular doctors I have ever met, and it is an honor to be her patient. I entered her office afraid and ashamed. I return for each visit reassured and my progress has been better than I ever imagined. She not only offers drug therapy, she offers other solutions that include alternative therapy and cognitive rehabilitation. The combination is perfect and unusual. She does not feel that the rejection of any task, or the inability to do a particular type of therapy is the end of the world. She works with who you are, what you can achieve, what your schedule allows, and she tailors her care accordingly. Here, she is unique. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She makes you feel like you are the only person in the room. As for the dogs, they are wonderful and I have only felt that they contribute to the caring atmosphere in the room.
