Dr. Genghis Erjan Niver, MD

Dr. Niver is great, but calling and talking to his staff is not pleasant at all. I spoke with "Lynn", if that was her real name. somehow I think she gave me a false name, and she acted like she did not want to give me the time of day, and I was bothering her when following up on an MRI script. She sounded truly miserable. A little cheerfulness can go a long way.

I broke both the ulna and radius and dislocated several smaller bones in my left wrist. Dr Niver inserted an extension plate from the mid arm to my hand on the pop of my wrist and a palmar plate on the other side. Three months later, the plates were removed and four months after that, I have regained almost complete movement in my wrist. My age (73 years) is an important factor since breaks such as mine are likely to have lasting effects in someone of my age. Dr Niver is an outstanding orthopedic surgeon. His manner is calming and reassuring. He is responsive to questions and patiently explains what he will be doing and why. Telephone calls are returned promptly and appointments are made without excessive wait. I have never had to wait more than five or ten minutes for him to see me. I will be leaving NJ next month for Virginia but if I ever require surgery like this again, I will come back to have Dr Niver treat me. One important note – start PT as soon as possible and… work diligently at it. Dr Niver said I should start PT for my fingers three weeks after the plates were inserted. I did and now have complete mobility of my hand and fingers.

Excellent physician!!! Very knowledgeable and friendly. Provided very accurate diagnosis and plan. Provided alternative treatments as well...Would highly recommend for anyone requiring hand or wrist surgery
