Dr. Westrich and the Hospital for Special Surgery have pain control down to a science. When I went home the day after surgery, I only took over-the-counter acetaminophen! Physical therapy went great, and I went back to work in two weeks.

Nobody looks forward to having surgery, but I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Westrich and the Hospital for Special Surgery. Dr. Westrich is a true professional and a skilled orthopedic surgeon. They have pain control after surgery down to a science, and that was a relief. And now my arthritis pain is totally gone! Thank you, Dr. Westrich!

I had a knee replacement revision surgery. Dr. Westrich is a skilled orthopedic surgeon with a great bedside manner. Excellent pain control after surgery. The nurses and other staff at the Hospital for Special Surgery were all great, highly professional. The hospital is so clean, absolutely spotless.

• From the moment I walked into Dr. Westrich's office I felt welcome he did this by welcoming me with a big genuine smile and allowing me to voice my concerns. I was a young 26yr old that was moderately active with a ACL tear and damage to my meniscus. We started off by collaboratively discussing my options for surgery and he welcome my suggestion to use my own graft from my patella tendon instead of using a graft from a donor. He explain to me in detail how the procedure would go and what was to be expected and my full recovery process. The staff at HSS was more than I could have ever expected as far as it comes to service. The office manager Denise Palacios was always on standby replying to my emails and answering any questions that I had with booking appointments to providing me with referrals to physical therapy, doctors notes that I need for work, setting me up with follow-up appointment and also getting me refills for my prescription. She is also why my surgery was approved by my… insurance company. She completed all of the paperwork and made sure that it was processed in a timely manner. Without her I probably wouldn't have gotten my surgery if it was left up to my insurance company. If you're an athlete or you're thinking about getting back into living a active lifestyle and you have an injury that you want to fix then having surgery at the hospital for special surgery is the place to go. I never thought a year ago that I would be able to walk up stairs without feeling pain or even ride my bike again or hear my doctor tell me i can start jogging again but now I'm able to do that and I have to thank Dr. Westrich and Denise Palacio at the hospital for special surgery for making that possible for me.

Dr Westrich exudes competence, and his work on my hip attests to it. Now months after my surgery my total hip replacement is so solid that I forget that it once was troublesome at all. As a reflection of the high level of professionalism of his practice, I found his staff to be congenial, knowledgeable and exceptionally efficient, affording me superior assistance with the least fuss, including extending extra benefits when available. It was my first major surgery, but my anxieties were minimized by the considerate attentions of both Dr Westrich and his staff, and by the diligent attentiveness of the HSS personnel during my recovery. My less than perfect rating on punctuality is because it's true that one may have to wait a bit to be seen, but I take this as a positive sign - the Dr and staff are giving the patients before me all the time they need, and when it’s my turn they did the same for me as well. My thanks to all, for such a positive experience.

After carefully researching orthopedic surgeons and hospitals, and having suffered with bone on bone knee arthritis for many years, I decided to have total knee replacements at Hospital for Special Surgery and chose Dr. Westrich as my surgeon. These two decisions were probably the smartest decisions I have ever made. Dr. Westrich was caring, honest and excellent. My recovery has been smooth. His staff...Heather, Denise and Nicole....top notch in every way.

I had a knee replacement done with the best doc at HSS, Im over weight and he told me i needed to lose but i need a new knee's to do this i said to him, so he replaced my first and it was a struggle but let me tell you that with the help of Denise i made it, I have never been called babe or baby so many times in my life and my wife and I joke about it and she says thats why i chose the doc but let me tell you we love her and he is the best of the best, his staff is ok too but dealing with denise about the money the surgery and medical stuff it gets done not even his assistant can get it done like her and denise helper is also the nicest girl and finds her anywhere and also tries to help. Oh and felipe good dude.Love that office and getting my other knee done in 2 months.I dare any of you to do it
