Would not recommend

Dr. Abraham has been very helpful. He always returns my calls and addresses my concerns with any given medication. He is approachable about all unwanted side effects and persistent when it comes to finding the right medication.

I made an appointment 2 months in advance, advising them I have Cigna insurance. They waited until the date and time of my appointment to notify me, they do not accept Cigna health plans. Very poor professionalism, communication, and knowledge of their services.

I saw him while in the Bryn Mawr psych unit only. He always explained what he wanted to do and sought my approval. He was kind but sometimes the docs in the unit are pressed for time and given more patients than they can reasonably give enough time to. The patients used to joke that Dr. Abraham thought everyone had Bi-polar II. I did appreciate that he used a minimalist approach to prescribing meds, but I had to be re-admitted after a week for a terrible med reaction when I stepped up my dosage as he had prescribed me to do. I like his concept of 'emergency meds' to get you stabilized in the hospital and regular meds you take to maintain after release. As for doing psychotherapy, NO psychotherapy is done while you are an inpatient at Bryn Mawr. The shrinks only have 15 minutes on average to spend with each patient. If you request a family meeting, you can get more time just for that. They have some group stuff done by mostly para-professionals but that was mostly stupid and a… waste of time. However, they do have an AWESOME Art Therapy program with two fantastic art therapists. I found those sessions very helpful and therapeutic. As far as all the shrinks I've had, Abraham is in the middle-neither the best nor the worst. .

Very considerate and thoughtful. Does not over prescribe. Works his hardest to keep his patients on the least amount of medicine.

I was treated by Dr Abraham for over a year. He (and his office staff) were always helpful and respectful. He tried a variety of medications to help me overcome my anxiety, trying to impact my lifestyle the least. He answered phone calls and concerns from my family members every time they called. If I needed an urgent appointment, the office staff accommodated my request and got me in as soon as possible.
