Dr. George Ivan Chovanes, MD

as an injured worker Dr chovanes was chosen by Alaska worker's comp board to perform physical evaluation on me, i had high hope for him since he would be the second doctor to evaluate my conditions, unfortunately for some reason that i still don't understand as he supposed to be a neutral independent doctor, he falsified the report in many instances the most obvious one is when he stated that i can walk heel with no problem and reflexia in both of my legs is symmetric while with POLIO at an early age left me with so many problems one of them is that i CANNOT heel on my left leg and it is less responsive compared to the right leg, so the testes he claimed he did and are all good in fact are all made up despite the fact that they were never done, i called an attorney surprisingly he told me i have a case just like yours with Dr chovanes but worse. i believe doctors who did such thing have broken their medical oath and CANNOT be trusted, please be AWARE. I really like Dr. Chovanes, and wish that he would work more offer. This was at least the 4th time I've gone to him for an injection in my neck and he always takes care at f the problem.

Dr. Chovanes was very polite and helpful. He listened to all my concerns and answered all my questions. He a people person guy. Would highly recommend him!

I accidently confused the time for the appointment and so arrived 45 minutes late. In spite of this Dr. Chovanes made time to see me anyway and gave me the help I needed. Excellent friendly service!

Dr. Chovanes was always very professional,caring and friendly. I always knew he was to the point. He never did surgery unless it was absolutely needed! In 1996 he did a C6-7 fusion with plating. I had instant relief. No arm pain ,no neck pain & I could raise my arm up. Then in 1999-2000 due to turning a sedated pt., ( with the help of another nurse) , I felt something pop in my neck. Dr. Chovanes then had to do surgery & redo my fusion. Still having some pain & numbness. The IME DR. told me if I had C5-6 done my pain wouid be gone. Dr. Chovanes did not think it would help. After being worn down, I agreed to have the fusion at C5-6 by another physician. Dr. Chovanes was correct the surgery did not make a difference! I chose him due to his expertise, inner action with patients & knowing other physicians went to him for help & or surgery! I still recommend him to family & friends.

I was treated by Dr. Chovanes for a brain hemorrhage when I was 20 years old. He was warm and kind and put me at ease at a time when I was very frightened. After 12 years of misdiagnoses and "I don't know" from other doctors, I finally got the treatment I needed. I cannot say enough about how much he's done for me.
