Dr. Hughes is a life saver.

Absolutely fantastic. He told me my options, gave it to me straight, then saved my life. Dr. Hughes told me there are no guarantees in life, but the whole time I was in his care I felt like by having him as my surgeon I'd stacked the odds in my favor. His staff is caring and at every opportunity went the extra mile to make sure that I was comfortable and taken care of, and I knew exactly what was going on. He the type of expert you turn to when you don't want it sugar coated, you simply want the best.

Dr. Hughes saved my life after I suffered a massive aortic dissection.He answered all of my questions and has been great with follow up care. He is concise and straight forward. I will always be grateful to him.

Dr Hughes is very good at what he does surgically. I had an aortic aneurysm repair and all went very well. However, his bedside manner is stiff und somewhat cold. I waited more than 2 hours to see him during an office visit, then requested he call me with my results and I left. During another visit, I waited more than an hour to see him then he was in and out in about 5 minutes. I left in tears because I was so frustrated, had unanswered questions and felt like I wasn't important enough to him to spend a little time going over some things that were important to me. As I said before, the surgery he performed on me was life-saving and I feel like he did an excellent job. It's just unfortunate when doctors have no compassion or personality when it comes to dealing with patients face-to-face.
