Dr. George H. Lien, MD

This doctor is/are rude, will tell you there isn't anything he can do for you. I was seen for about 5-7 minutes. He came the door telling me this isn't a Workman's Comp claim. I was using my own insurance and out of pocket expenses. I don't recommend him as a Workman's Comp Doctor either, he is in a pool of doctors that help Workman's Comp. He is a very wealthy doctor because money matters more than the patients if your are on a Workman's Comp case. Him and doctor Rungee will turn there head on you when comes to Political position and Capitol. Would easily take a check to write your health off. This type thing should be investigated. This needed to be said cause there are others that are going through the similar issues with doctors of TOA.

I had a ruptured disc that was compressing a nerve that ran through my leg to my big toe. I had a foot drop because of it which is weakness and numbness in my leg and foot. My pain was nearly unbearable and at 26 with two young kids I couldn’t live the way I was. My daily activities were severely impacted. I met with Dr. George Lien. He listened to me, answered all of my questions, and explained in detail what would happen if I decided with surgery. The pros outweighed the cons with my case for me personally so I opted for the surgery. It was a minimally invasive surgery. My scar is maybe 1 inch to 1 1/2 inch. I wouldn’t have been so on board with this had it not been for him and his nurse Emily. They are so sincere I can tell it’s more than a job for them and I can’t be thankful enough for that. I am pain free and almost 4 weeks post op. My kids finally see me smile again and no longer in pain. I would recommend Dr. Lien to anyone. He and his staff changed my life.

I would not recommend this do nothing doctor

After my neck injury, still having shoulder pain, tingling in hand, severely hurting in my neck, dr. just says keep on going to physical therapy that I will get better, but I'm worse, he says he can't do nothing for me after my whiplash, and said I had age Degeneration, disc already slipped before rearendex, and I never had any neck and back symptoms until my accident, no help at all!

I selected Dr. Lien for my back surgery based on his reputation and credentials. I am in the healthcare field and have had multiple patients share their experience and positive surgical results under Dr. Lien's care. In selecting a neurosurgeon, I wanted the best surgeon, not necessarily the doctor with the warmest bedside manner who would spend a long time talking to me. I noticed in other reviews people mentioned that they did not find him to be as "warm" as they would like. I found Dr. Lien to be very professional and courteous. He is knowledgeable, explaining my diagnosis and options in adequate detail. He answered all of my questions. He was truthful in his answers, even though it was not necessarily the answer that I wanted (surgery). I appreciated Dr. Lien telling it as it is. Having back surgery is scary. It is difficult to think about someone operating so closely to the spinal cord, and potential damage that could occur. Having Dr. Lien as my surgeon put my mind more at ease… because I felt he was the best neurosurgeon in our area. I was pleased with the outcome of surgery, and the post-op restrictions were thoroughly explained to help me achieve the best results from my surgery. As a side note, Dr. Lien's nurse named Emily is amazing. She is very kind and prompt to return calls. She takes excellent care of her patients.

Poor bedside manners, spent 5 min in the room with me. Didnt review any medical records from PCP beforehand. Paid $220 out of pocket, they billed insurance $570.00 for a 5 min office visit, and now i still have a $120 balance that was sent to wrong address and now in collections 6 months later that I had no idea about! Would not recommend.

Because of the bickering of the insurance companies involved in my companies MVA, with the other the vehicle being100% at fault I was forced because of the pain to use my own company that I own, Workers comp, so I could get medical attention that was much needed, but what I got at this Dr's office it set me back in the chair, I was expecting a patient-Dr visit and Dr Lien walked in and the first words out of his mouth was " your neck and back pain has nothing to do with your accident it is back degenerative spine disease...it didn't matter we were hit at 70 mph...of course he didn't even ask...after my wife saw who it was she was so scared because he was the same one that botched up her back surgery twice 10 years ago and gave her so many steroid shots she developed diabetes...that was as much a punch as being hit by the automobile...now time to find a lawyer that works just as hard for their client as he does for Workman's Comp....I miss the good old days of when physicians really… cared for the patient...Sad!

two operations, one failed, the one that failed he said no one could fix it, I found Dr that will fix it, L5 protruding hitting thecal sack, now because Lien said no one can fix it comp refusing to pay. They paid Lien the first time to fix exact same problem. Line is a comp whor*

This Dr is on the panel for several workers compensation insurance companies. He is not objective, blames degenerative disc disease on any back related post accident. Everyone has degenerative disk disease incidentally. He really screwed over a former county employee a few years back. She has still never recovered. I wouldn't see this joker for any problems-surgical or otherwise.
