Dr. George Tesar

Not much discussion on his part of my diagnoses. Often left more depressed than when I arrived for an appointment. Disappointed.

I was so disappointed and hurt by Tesar's attitude I never went back to that department again. I am a patient with epilepsy, and supposedly Tesar's specialty is psychiatric components of epilepsy. (I also have diagnosed PTSD, dissociative disorder, severe anxiety, severe depression). I had to seem him for a referral to a psychiatrist (not him). He was the biggest disappointment--treated me dismissively, not worth his time, did not even look at me, talked to my husband about travel. I thought Cleveland Clinic=high class care. Wasn't my experience.

THIS DOCTOR IS A COLD FISH. HE LACKS EMPATHY AND WAS ACTUALLY MEAN TO ME ON OUR FIRST APPT. OFCOURSE I NEVER RETURNED SINCE I LEFT THE ROOM IN TEARS . I DONT LIKE LEAVING NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT DOCS BUT THIS GUY NEEDS TO BE AVOIDED. BY THE WAY WHEN I SAW HIM HE WAS THE HEAD OF PSYCHIATRY AT CLEVE. CLINIC !!!!!!!! THAT IS SCARY TO ME AND OTHERS IM SURE. HERES THE POSITIVE THING IVE BEEN IN THIS PSYCHIATRIC GAME A LONG TIME AND I KNOW THERE ARE GOOD DOCS OUT THERE. KEEP TRYING DONT GIVE UP.MUST KISS MANY FROGS TO FIND THE PRINCE...IN THIS CASE... A PSYCHIATRIST/PRINCE.

If you have an opportunity to see Dr. Tesar, you are a fortunate person. He's an amazing, brilliant and compassionate doctor. He's an expert in his field.

No, I would not recommend this doctor to a friend. My neurologist recommended me to the Psychiatry department, because these two departments supposedly work cooperatively. Tesar's attitude toward me was condescending and dismissive. He gave me the impression I was wasting his time. I thought these people were supposed to help patients, and listen to the patient's concerns, and then make a recommendation for care. I can't believe there is not one doctor in the psychiatry department (not Tesar) who couldn't help me with my diagnosed DID and PTSD.

I would never recommend him to my friend's who have children.

I don't know how Dr. Tessar gets high ratings. He was the worst doctor I have ever been to. I was referred to him by the Cleve. Clinic Neurology Department for seizure like episodes. Dr. Tessar diagnosed me in 10 minutes as having seizures due to anxiety, did not offer me a treatment plan and didn't refer me to any other doctor. Basically, he told me to "deal with them." He never tried to figure out what was going on or solve them either. When I had 2 in a week, I called him. It took him over 1 month to return my call. Yes, 1 MONTH. I finally ended up going to another neurologist however, because what Dr. Tessar wrote in my chart, I have not been properly diagnosed. To date, I am still continuing to have these "seizures" but my family doctor believes that they are hormonal related and is sending me to a specialist outside of the Cleveland Clinic because I have not been treated properly by the Cleveland Clinic. I have had 16 of them in the last year. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!

I went through surgery that needed phychiatric care afterwards. Before my visit to see him I thought I would not be able to make it mentally. He specializes after care for the brain surgery I had and this makes me more comfortable. I have come a long way and give him the credit.
