Dr. George Eladio Vargas, MD

I had a telehealth appointment on July 7, 2025, to review the biopsy results. During this appointment, Dr. Vargas told me verbally that “everything looked fine.” However, a few days later, I requested the pathology report by email, and upon reviewing it myself, I saw that all three thyroid biopsy samples were marked as “ACELLULAR” and “INSUFFICIENT FOR DIAGNOSIS” (Bethesda Category I) — meaning there were not enough thyroid epithelial cells present to determine whether the nodule was benign or malignant. I am deeply concerned by the discrepancy between what the pathology report states and what I was told. The doctor gave me a false sense of security, when in fact the result was nondiagnostic and requires further evaluation. Had I not reviewed the report personally, no follow-up would have been arranged — which I consider a serious case of medical negligence.

While Dr. Vargas himself appears to be professional, the management of his office is an absolute disaster. I was overcharged multiple times, and the staff never took the time to verify the correct payment with my insurance. When the insurance does pay them, they keep the excess without notifying the patient—you only find out if you take the initiative to call your insurance and then chase the office for a refund. What’s worse, the office manager seems completely indifferent. Despite numerous online complaints describing the same issues, nothing changes. She's dismissive, rude, and unwilling to offer real solutions. This kind of disregard for patient trust and transparency is unacceptable. Avoid this office unless you’re prepared to audit every bill and advocate for yourself every step of the way.

Does not assist patients only pushing unnecessary tests to be done

I have been treated at this medical office with Dr Vargas for many years and have always had a great experience, great doctor. On my last visit I noticed the staff changed, same as the front desk person. They have very professional and knowledgeable staff now, very good customer service, very helpful, and the front desk person, Noemi, very sweet and helpful. I wish they always stay like that.

I am furious that this doctor is charging me $50 to get my test results so I can send them to my primary care doctor! This is my personal information and he's charging me?????

Dr. Vargas seems like a decent human being and I have no reason to question his medical judgment. However, his office manager and his staff are horrible. And that is his fault. He is responsible for how they treat his patients and they do so in a heartless, callous, thoughtless, inconsiderate, and incompetent manner. His office schedule me for an ultrasound (done in-office by his own ultrasound tach) at 9:30 a.m. The tech saunters in at 10:15 like it's nothing and she claims my appointment in her book wasn't until 10:15. When I questioned Dr. Vargas's office staff and office manager about how this could have happened, the office manager told me I was being "disrespectful" and threatened to call the police if I didn't leave immediately.

I went as a companion with my sister to Dr Vargas office and what a disappointment. From the minute you walk into that office you feel the rudeness and unprofessionalism. You don’t feel welcome at all. The front office staff extremely rude and they don’t know the meaning of customer service or the value of a smile to the patients that pay for their salary and provide to them a job. Prior to visiting this Dr office, we went to Cleveland Clinic to visit another Dr. For a different appt. and what a difference! Cleveland Clinic Drs. motto is to offer world class Customer Service to all their patients and ensuring that this is achieved at all levels from parking attendants , janitors, office staff, nurses, administrators and Drs. Dr. Vargas employees are all non compassionate people. Mistreating elderies. It broke my heart to hear the way a 90 yr old man was treated. Hrs of wait and to top it off, they abused him verbally. The office was full of patients and everyone felt very upset… about the way a young Hispanic nurse dressed in black spoke to the elderly and fragile man. My sister claims that the Dr is good. But, as for me, I’ll continue with Cleveland Clinic Drs. “humans & value their patients” (very caring). Never mistreated. I truly hope that the Dr vision about first class customer service is important to him and recruits new professional people or offer training to his current staff. Also, be careful about them charging. They tried to overcharge another patient. However, the patient was aware of his copays and ended up paying less than what the Dr secretary was trying to collect. Very poor and disorganized office.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE WORST INHUMANE DOCTOR EVER ! Dr. George Vargas was supposed to treat my wife today ( AFTER WAITING FOR TWO HOURS) with the most inhumane and lack of professionalism that I've seen in my life and from any medical professional my wife was refused to see Dr. Vargas because her insurance at the last minute was not accepted by Dr. Vargas office. My wife had Memorial Insurance and the office stuff knew about it, because she had visited Dr. Vargas three times before. However, when my wife returned to Dr. Vargas office for her follow-up appointment and to read the results ultrasound because she had a nodule in her thyroid. The stuff was very rude with her when they found out that her insurance was no longer accepted by Dr. Vargas. Obviously my wife didn't know about this until she came to the visit as no contact from the office was ever done by the staff. When my wife found about this she offered to take care of whatever balance they had as long as they give her an… opportunity because she was not prepare for this as she was not aware about the issue with her insurance. Because of high balance she couldn't paid her balance right there on the spot Dr. Vargas refused to give her medication for her thyroid and refused to read the results of her ultrasound. Its a shame that a doctor of this caliber has surrender to the big insurance interest not caring for the wellbeing of his patients but only to the wellbeing of insurance companies. His complete lack of compassion and unprofessional treatment of my wife in front of the staff and people waiting in the office, lacks completely professionalism and compassion for a patient. My wife left the office crying because she waited two weeks to get the results of her ultrasound since her thyroid was completely removed, and this so-called doctor didn't have the compassion to read to her but to make her miserable and abandoned. Its a shame that this type of Doctor still exist working in our communities. My advise is do not see this doctor he will feel miserable and defenseless get a more human advise somewhere else this so called doctor is not human he doesn't care about the patient well-being he only cares about MONEY. DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR HE LACKS COMPASSION PROFESSIONALISM AND HE DOESNT CARE ABOUT YOU, HE CARES ABOUT THE BIG INSURANCE COMPANIES WHO ARE REALLY HIS TRUE PATIENTS.

This doctor does not care about his patients His staff is terrible. I was with this practice 2 years. Terrible!
