Dr. Gerard Michael Gerling, MD

I took my husband to his appointment with Dr. Gerling office yesterday, My husband has a head neck injury and the first thing he could say was I’m at the wrong office I need another doctor, which I explained I was referred here by our worker’s compensation lady, so we go where they send us, I brought 15 pages of medical records as to what has been done so far. His trying to just look over them real quick and then tells me to tell him something helpful, helpful I thought the records were helpful!! Ok so I start to explain everything to him and he cuts me off to say I need more something helpful again what I’m telling you is helpful sir! He starts to ask my husband who has memory issues right now question and my husband looks at me to reply as he can not remember he the in a condescending way says I’m not talking to her I’m talking to you she is not my patient so you need to answer. My husband could not answer or he would have, had you listened from the start of the appointment what… issues he was facing you would have known that. My husband is a retired marine and has faced lots of challenges in his 23 years of service, and I’ve been along side of him witnessing some of his challenges but I have never faced this type of challenge at any appointment that we have ever been to, we was treated like we was below his level and treated like we are just here to be here and not get answers. This provider is a disgrace to our healthcare system and providers such as himself should not be allowed to even practice medicine. I am going to contact every medical board, workers compensation insurance and I will make sure that my voice is heard because people come to you for treatment, for you to listen, compassion when they are hurting, and most importantly to feel like they matter and they are not just a quick pay for you. You sir should feel quilt hat night when you lay down, knowing you did not do enough for someone, and that’s the oath you took when you became a provider maybe you forgot after 70 years. So maybe you should think about retiring sir. I will pray for you to have some kind of compassion in your heart for your patients because if I know anything I know prayer works, even when medicine fails. To anyone reading this please understand if you need treatment I would recommend another doctor anyone but him.

DR. GERLING AND HIS ASSISTANT, CAMIL, PERFORMED A NERVE CONDUCTION TEST ON MY RIGHT HAND AND LEFT HAND. THE TEST CONCLUDED THAT I HAD CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME. I APPRECIATE DR. GERLING AND CAMIL FOR BEING VERY PROFESSIONAL AND EFFICIENT!!!

I found Dr Gerling very insightful and helpful He helped me more than my treating Dr for my condition. 10-5-19. Mary B

Saw Dr Gerling for headaches, while I found him a bit quirky (a lot of specialists are) he was very thorough, asking a lot of questions. I am now on a medicine regime that has reduced the number of times a month I have headaches.

Did not like his tone or patronizing attitude. Did not allow me to speak or give my opinion. Told me I was sent to him forr his opinion and expertise but didnt check me or evaluated anything. Left with no answers

Unfriendly, anytime someone says “well what do you want me to do about it” is short sided on the people meter. I’m referring to a friends appt and I had gone with her.

Doesn't seem to have a good memory. Makes up fabrications in the medical record. Does not perform a complete neurological exam. It appears he either received inadequate neurological training approximately 40 years ago or he has dementia. He seems to have auditory processing deficits and a very short attention span at his age. Retirement is his option in the near future. His medical diagnosis is outdated and innacurate. Needs to refresh his neurological training

Very pleased with the care and service he provided my mother who is 92. He was very patient and gentle with her, explaining every detail and step involved. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

My appointment was to assess a neck injury and pain level. Dr. Gerling made me feel rushed when arriving at my appointment. His questioning for history of my injury was very scattered in sequence. He repeated questions as if he hadn't listened to any of my previous responses. The staff offered to stay for the exam and he refused her offer. When the physical portion of the exam began, Dr Gerling told me to stand up and face away from him. He then instructed me to bend over forward. At that time with no warning or permission requested, he grabbed both of my hips with his hands. I then demanded for a female staff member to be present. I was so uncomfortable for the remainder of the appointment that I left in tears.

He doesn't have the best bedside manner, but got right to the point. After looking at the paperwork presented, he asked why we were there. Upon learning the reason he indicated that he had been watching the patient's actions while sitting and listening. He immediately recognized what he felt the problem was and prescribed medication. He continued to gather more history. I am more concerned about a treatment than a bedside manner. If I get results, he can be as grumpy as he wants.
