Dr. Ghislaine Fougy, MD

I have been working with various psychiatrists for three years now, and it was Dr Fougy that finally discovered a combination of drugs that helped. She listened to my explanations with an open mind and understood that the side-effects I experienced, although uncommon, were legitimate. With persistence and experimentation, she found a combination of drugs that made me a functional, productive person in life. PROS: relaxed bedside manner, progressive approach (visits scheduled every 2 weeks), years of experience with all types of patients CONS: wait times are unpredictable

Would not recommend if you are employed or have any sort of commitments outside of waiting an hour plus in a waiting room. Staff does not have courtesy to call in advance to let you know they are running over an hour late- and of course they don't inform you of this until after you have paid your copay. Waste of my time.

This doctor took me almost TWO HOURS after the appointment time. She did not do a thorough assessment, and her diagnosis was inaccurate. (I am a licensed social worker; I have a thorough knowledge of DSM-IV diagnoses.) When I called to ask for an emergency 30 day prescription I was unable to reach her for three days. When I called her emergency cell phone she said that she would call me back. She never called. On other occasions I left messages on this cell phone and never heard from her.

My daughter was hospitalized for 1 week. Her medications were changed and she was discharged. Dr. Fougy never returned any of my calls or contacted me. I would not recommend her to anyone.
