Dr. Giuseppe Nappi

I went to see this physician as a newlywed. I did not wear a wedding band, or any other jewelry, because I just did not like too. Dr. Nappi would not perform an exam, I think because he only examines married women with proof of marriage. He kept looking at my left hand for a ring. I know it sounds odd but he did kept asking me if I was married. No exam. I had taken a home pregnancy test that indicated I was not pregnant, but I stopped having periods. Dr. Nappi gave me medication to take to bring on my periods. No ordered pregnancy testing was given. I asked him, 'what happens if my periods do not start after I take these pills?'. Dr. Nappi replied that it would mean I was pregnant and that I should go 'off the street to get an abortion, I don't do those.' I went to Labcorp, got a conclusive pregnancy test, I was not pregnant. The medication did not bring on my period. I found another doctor who discovered that I had pituitary tumors once an MRI was ordered. This doctor is a… disgrace to the profession and I am appalled that he still retains his license. Everyone should use caution when dealing with the doctor. He probably barely got out of medical school. No woman should rely on his medical opinions as they may not be well thought or medically appropriate. Single women need doctors too. Why was this doctor so against treating single women? It was just odd from all viewpoints.

first, i had a scheduled appt with him and told him that i thought i was in labor. he said "shame on you, this is your fifth child, you should know when you are in labor". turns out, i did know. i ended up rushing to flushing hosp barely making it in time. unfortunately for my son, dr. nappi didn't make it in time and an intern delivered him. she was very young and in my opinion very unexperienced. she kept telling me to push. i thought it was odd that for my fifth time it was so hard, but i did as she said. later, i found out from my pediatrician that the cord was wrapped around his neck. he was born with bruised all over his face from the lack of oxygen. he suffers from various mental issues, but we are not sure which are from the birth and which are not as two of his brothers suffer from spectrum disorders. we just know that there is something going on from the birth because he is different from his brothers. he is lower functioning and has other issues as well. my son… just turned 19, has applied for ssi benefits and will never have a normal life. thanks dr. nappi. we never did anything about it because it is very hard to prove and we chose to focus on helping my son, which is very time consuming and mentally draining.
