All he cares about is billing exorbitant prices. He is a crook and not a doctor

We cannot recommend him.

I had been a patient at Dr. Laje's office for about two years. My depression and suicidal thoughts were escalating rapidly, but this doctor seemed rather amused by this. He did not understand the severity of my illness. He was absolutely no help, and I reached the point in which I had to be admitted to inpatient at a psychiatric hospital. Avoid this doctor at all costs. His prices are outrageous, as well.

Arrogant and patronizing. Someone in the field of helping others should not be like this.

I was a patient of psychiatrist Dr. Falk Lohoff, Dr. Gonzalo Laje’s office colleague. One time, Dr. Laje opened the door to let a patient into his office hallway from the lobby (by the way, It was strange that I very rarely saw any patients in his waiting room even though there were other staff), I stood up because I wanted to go through the door and knock on Dr. Lohoff’s door and let him know I was there (that was always fine with Dr. Lohoff). Dr. Laje violently shouted at me “sit back down” and pointed at the couch. Also, once his receptionist let me into his weight and height measurement room, to see how much I was gaining on the new psychotropic med. Then she left the weight/measurement room for a minute. Dr. Laje barged into the room that I was waiting in and started interrogating me angrily and perhaps paranoid: “why are you in here? What are you doing? You are not supposed to be in here alone!” I replied, “Isadora let me in here. I’m just waiting to get… measured.” Unless you want to be treated disrespectfully and feel stigmatized for suffering from mental illness, DO NOT make an appointment with Dr. Gonzalo Laje. His prices are exorbitant too...according to Dr Lohoff, he charges OVER $400 for 45-50 minutes...and he raises the rate every year!!! He also charges $200 dollars if you call him for a 15 minute call if you need advice or are having a bad reaction to a medication. He’s a crook!!!

He has helped me battle depression for years. Caring and understanding individual who I’ve recommended strongly to family members and friends. One of the best.

High strung, egotistical; will even laught at you if he doesn't agree with what you're saying.

Kept forgetting to refill my rx through the pharmacy so I would go a week without meds and then end up going through withdrawal. Asked at every appointment if I was having sex and doing drugs yet, as though all teens inevitably do these things. Left because I did not trust him with helping me and felt uncomfortable around him. Felt it was very unprofessional and unsafe to forget to refill patient's medicine.

Our child is a patient of Dr. Laje's. Dr. Laje is a wonderful child psychiatrist. He has a unique understanding of psychotropic medications and he took the time to explain the side effects and what to expect. Also, his staff is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend him for child psychiatry!

Dr. Laje did not properly inform us of side effects. I also do not feel that he understands the development of children. He seems insensitive to our family's needs.
