Dr. Gordon Hal Stock, MD

My first visit with Dr. Stock was after seeing his P. A. and having a Cardiac Ablation. We reviewed my heart condition and he was ready to set an appt. for a total hip replacement. I decided to lose more weight to improve better outcome. After 2 months I returned to set up the surgery. I asked if after the surgery I could use the type of walker with the brakes & seat instead of the plain cheaper metal walker. He answered, "I recommend the metal kind and if you don't want to use that, you can fi d another doctor!" I thought, WHAT! I tried to act unaffected and said, "No, I was just wondering. Metal kind is fine." I then told him I wanted to let him know (and I would tell the anesthesiologist) that I have a family history of waking up during sedation and pain medication doesn't always work. He said, "You're going to have pain and all I prescribe is 2 Tylenol every 4 hours." I shared that I had been given, Gabapentin and Lyrica both and they had no affect so I quit taking them. AGAIN he… said, "Well, if you don't like that, you can find another doctor." Then he added, "You are what I call, 'But IF patients! Everything I say, You question!" I was shocked! But I remained calm. Dr Stock asked again if I was ready to set up an appointment for surgery and I responded, yes. He then said he wanted to get another more current exray. Before he sent me out I said, " Oh, just a reminder, we talked the last time I was here we talked about my Cardiac Ablation and the cardiologist said my heart is 'good to go'. THEN he turned and decided to look at my online chart!! He said, I see you have 'THIS' condition (I thought, now, you are finally looking at my chart! ?!) AND he said "I can't operate on you in American Fork Hospital and that is the only place I operate. YOU NEED TO FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR." I was shocked first because he should have reviewed my info the first time we talked BUT so RELIEVED, to know I would not be seeing the most rude & most arrogant doctor AND person I have ever met! I talked to his office manager the next day and explained the treatment my husband and I received. And I said I should have been told my previous appointment that he could not do the surgery and I didn't want my insurance charged for that appointment. Dr Stock called me and tried to explain to me it wasn't his fault. I listened and asked if I could share something with him. I told him how I felt he had treated me. His response was, "Well why did you come for the 2nd visit?!" I hung up. NOW, I am thrilled to have found Dr. Jordan Barker! What a wonderful difference!

He could be the best OS on the planet Idk but did not give enough info before surgery and rushed to get away afterward At my 6 week visit...highly disappointed.

Great Positive bedside manner. Friendly and knowledgeable. Talked through all options and made sure I understood! Treatment was successful! Highly recommend Dr. Stock!

Every time I have been to see Dr. Stock with a concern his pat answer is , everybody heals differently.. I have questions about my knee implant so I have gone to the factory to try and get them answered. Look around for your Dr.

If you like a doctor that does your surgery and then you NEVER get to see or talk to him again?! Only his PA. Then this is the doctor for you!! His after care is HORRIBLE!!!! I could give details but if would take way to long! Trust me, do your homework on the doctor you choose for you care. It will matter in your recovery!!
