This guy was a god send! The county hospital really stepped up their game with this doctor. As anyone with back pain will tell you, you feel like your life’s over when you have it. I gave up hope. I was 54 and with non-stop lower back pain. My medications could not get me to a good place, injections and physical therapy didn’t work. I had good doctors that did their best but it just wasn’t working for me. I met Dr. Thai (short for his last name) because my uncle recommended him. He was quick and to the point, I think my clinic visit was about 5 or 10 mins. He kept my dialogue focused to the issue at hand while some people may find this annoying, it gave me some confidence he knew what he was doing. He told me the issue he saw on the MRI and why I needed a fusion. The surgery went well though it took almost 2 months to find an opening to get scheduled. he did it through 4 half inch nicks in my skin and I left the next day from the hospital. I am dramatically better. It’s… hard to think about what my life could have been like. He’s the real deal. Hope this blurb helps the next guy in pain get some help.

He makes his patient pay upfront then the patient has to get reimbursed by the insurance company. Poor service and the doctor is more interested in $$$ than the patient! Just bad service!

please make sure you do your research very well and get opinions of more than one Dr. Complications can arise from any surgery. His surgery caused a CSF leak that caused a lengthy stay at the hospital. and another surgery to repair. That was not the only complication but also ended up having an infection in surgery site. Mike and Monica you are a blessing to this doctor.

Dr. Ty saved my life at a time where I was just about wheel chair bound! If you want a doctor with a superior bed-side manner, kind and sensitive attention to patient treatment, care, and recovery, then you want Dr. Ty. Two other doctors (at Kaiser Permanente by the way) had previously diagnosed me and said that they could complete my surgery but it would take approximately 5 1/2 hours, I could bleed out on the table, I could be paralyzed for life, they were going to cut through my spine, I could have complications, the surgery room appointment could not even be scheduled for 2 -3 months and my recovery would be difficult and long. Dr. Ty, looked at the same exact MRI that I gave them and within minutes told me that he could do my surgery in 30 minutes, I would not lose any more blood than if I had a paper cut, he would not cut through my spine, and I could go home that same day. He did EXACTLY as he said he could with the exception of only one thing - the surgery didn't take 30… minutes... it took 25 minutes! He has performed 1000's of these procedures and is completely worth a consultation if you are looking for help from your excruciating back pain. He is now in private practice and you can find him under 'Brain & Spine Institute' in Orange County California. You can also just google his nick name which is Dr. Ty and you will find him as well. I personally know two other patients that he did surgery on and their results were just as fantastic as mine. I am telling you, this doctor is the real deal and I am indebted to him for life!

What a fantastic doctor and staffs!! Many people have to understand that specialists are very busy, but the fact that Dr. Ty was willing to see me on off day was amazing. I was very thankful for Dr. Ty to take my needs seriously, unlike many specialists I have seen. I was scheduled to come in to review my MRI and up next was my surgery. I am very satisfied with how quickly his surgery scheduler got my surgery authorized and how quickly she got me scheduled the procedure. From experience, the entire office is amazing and they work really hard. I've seen one or two people on their cell phones for personal reasons (because I understand Spanish), but aside from that, everyone is great. The medical assistant is always so kind and caring. The surgery scheduling has one of the best customer services I have ever had and she has the sweetest voice. I highly recommend anyone who needs a neurosurgeon, come see Dr. Ty. The doctor is a miracle worker!

Dr. Ty gave me my life back. I limped in with intractable sciatica. Dr. Ty approached my problem from a minimally invasive approach. He did surgery on me which took all of 45 minutes. I went home the same day. The incision was able to be covered up by a bandaid!
