Dr. Gregory Jay Elders, MD

Dr Elders has helped me tremendously with a 2nd opinion on surgery. He diagnosed a possible failed fusion from a prior surgery that the last surgeon overlooked. Dr. Elders is thorough, intelligent, and he cares about his patients.

Dr. Elders repaired separate parts of my spine at separate times and I've done wonderfully. Just got rear ended a couple of months ago and am anticipating another possible surgery. Willing to drive I trust him so much

Doctor Elders is the greatest!!! no other doctor would do my surgery as it was labeled as RISKY. doctor elders examined me and agreed to do my surgery. Dr elders and his team performed my surgery with a wonderful success. after therapy i am able to do yoga, weightlifting with restriction that i do not lift weights that will push down on my spine. i am able to mountain bike as well as go walking with my dog duke. the best part is that i have rekindled my love life with my beautiful wife Judy. i will be forever grateful to Dr. Gregory Elders for he gave me back a wonderful life with myself and my family. thank you!! Dr. Elders possesses all the fine qualities which makes a great doctor excellent. My late wife was a pediatrician and she taught me what to look for in any doctor and I am proud to say Dr. Elders excels in all areas from gifted bedside manners to what seems unlimited knowledge in his chosen practice as a certified Ortho-Spine Surgeon. The Northwood Ortho-Spine Center is profoundly blessed to have him as part of their group. I would gladly recommend him to anyone which by the way, I have already done several times. I have that much confidence in his abilities and would gladly place my life in his caring hands. May God bless him for the wonderful work he does.

Greg Elders has no bedside manner. Once the surgery was done he showed no concern for follow up visits, particularly since I continued to have severe back pain and limited movement! I would not recommend this person. When I asked about followup, I was told, I was released. But I still have the same issue as before the surgery!!!

In 2010 Dr. Elders operated on my back and installed 2 titanium rods and 12 screws and fused 3 vertebra He advised me the surgery was successful and that I would be up and doing normal activities in 3 months. The pain has never gone away and after several discussions with Dr. Elders over the next two years and he basically told me that there was nothing else he could do. He apparently does not care.

Was stuck with him when my orthopedic surgeon moved out of state they were in the same practice. Worst bedside manner over very rough! Also will not listen to his patients! He told me my ankle was healed and to start walking on it after only taking an x-ray with all the metal in there you could not even see most of the bone. He is the dr he knows best I started walking, after a couple months still in horrible pain I kept telling him he would not listen, finally I went for a second opinion. This doctor did a ct scan and informed me that there was a 6 cm gap in my bone and it could explode at anytime to absolutely not walk on it she had to go in rebreak and re do hardware another 6months not walking and I will never be the same worst doctor ever!!!!

Dr. Elders performed my spinal surgery on April 4 of this year, 2017. His advice after 6 weeks was "do what you feel like doing". I'm here to tell you to wait on that part. Take care of yourself, don't rush anything, pamper yourself, and be patient, then do what you want to do after about 3 months. You are less likely to pay for any activity if you just Wait. I just had my first full 30 days without any pain and that was 6 months after the surgery.. I'd recommend Dr. Elders to anyone. I liked him and I think he has magic hands...

I was diagnosed with severe spinal stenosis, I visited Dr. Elders on the recommendation of my family doctor, I am truly glad he did. Dr. Elders was great, the surgery instead of 3 hours turned out to be 6 hours due to the actual situation of my lumbar area spine, he worked at it and after such a long surgery, he explained the situation to my wife and daughter in great detail, later he ran into them at the cafeteria while I was in recovery and he brought them up to date on my situation in the recovery room. On two later post operation followup visits he has been very courteous and very easy to talk to and discuss the recovery procedure, he is caring, and friendly. I cannot say enough about Dr. Elders. I have had no pain or discomfort after my surgery. I do not hesitate for one moment to recommend him to anyone looking for a good caring orthopedic surgeon, he is excellent and I feel very confident in him and his capabilities. His staff is very good and very caring as well.

I was referred to him by my family doctor, he seems to be knowledgeable and confident. He made a good first impression on me. He diagnosed by lower back Spinal Stenosis and described the procedure. He spent as much time as he needed with me, he did not dilly dally went right to the point. I am currently waiting to have surgery by him in a week. His office in Conroe is very simple and sparse but he is just starting here trying to establish himself in this Area.
