Dr. Gregory Mark Fox, MD

Dr Fox's steroid injections in my eye caused irreversible damage. Loss of vision and glaucoma. Consequently I've been through surgeries and on prescriptions ever since..not to mention dealing with vision problems, doctors care, and eye appearance.

ZERO bed side manners. Zero communication skills. ARROGANT beyond words. My first visit consisted of several questions; I have to assume only for show as he has done nothing regarding my requests. I asked if he would go over the pictures that are taken at every appointment. He said yes, it only happened at the first visit. During Retina reattachment surgery NOT ONE TIME did he ask how I was doing, only joked with the nurses in the operating room. My recommendation, get another doctor.....fast!!!!

Gregory Fox, MD, is a superb surgeon. He schooled at Bascomb Palmer, Miami, FL, best in the country for eyes. He values his time as well as your’s. Based on the number of patients in the waiting rooms of two of his six clinics that I visited, it’s imperative that he stay efficient to serve all well so don’t expect a lot of idle chat with him. He gets to the point, answers questions and knows what to do. This recipe intensifies in surgery: He’s highly focused to the point of not talking at times; he’s time-aware and effective. He manuevered through a tricky procedure adeptly and my results are fantastic. Improved vision is a gift. Everyone—from the admitting clerk to the anesthesiologist to the attending nurses— was kind, courteous and professional. Shouldn’t this be standard in healthcare?! But, it’s exceptional. After surgery, I was given two long-stemmed flowers while being escorted to the car. This may seem like overkill but it’s very appreciated after the stress of… preparing for a surgery. Just another sign of their compassion. I cannot recommend Gregory Fox, MD, and Retina Associates highly enough. They are THE best choice in the Kansas City meteopolitan area—and beyond. What’s your eyesight worth? Why settle for less? See?? the difference!??

He probably is a very smart doctor he just isn't very good with patients . The people putting a 45 minute wait time in his office are full of it you wait at least two hours or more his office staff is rude they make excuses for him you wait all this time to see him for him to rush you in rush you right out he does not answer questions he straight to the point I have Eye cancer which is very rare not very many people deal with it . I don't think him or his office staff deals with this because they seem very ill in formed and don't want to help me so I'm in the middle of trying to look for someone else to take care of me I feel like I'm stuck somewhere I don't want to be and in an office who doesn't want to treat me if you have a choice to see someone else you should he does not have any bed side manner or acts like he cares to be bothered by the patients he should just stay home.

In coming to see Dr. Fox, the average wait time is quite long, we went to see him for our followup and we arrived 30 minutes early and after waiting 20 minutes past the appointment time were told it was going to be an additional 30 minutes, because after all, just because we got there early doesn't mean he's going to see you on time. This staff is not very courteous they tend to be overbearing and act as if they are above you regardless of your position.

I was referred to Dr. Fox by my regular Eye Doctor for a suspected Maculor Hole. I obtained an apt within 24 hours. I read the reviews on this site prior to my appt. and was dreading a long wait and an insensitive doctor. NOT THE CASE! This guy is 'to the point' but certainly not insensitive nor tried to rush me out of the room. He answered all my questions then turned to my husband and asked if he had any further questions. I came away with a trust that he KNOWS what he is talking about and saving my vision was his priority. I didn't rate the Follows Up because that is yet to come.

Came for a 2nd opinion. After a very long wait I was "herded" through a series of tests and rooms until the last. I was initially impressed that he had a scribe he was dictating to as he examined my eyes. Then he began pushing and probing my affected eye and kept telling me "look down, down left, up, up right," etc. which seemed to go on forever. I wanted to blink but he kept going. I told him I didn't know whether I was looking in the right direction or not. I could tell he was squeezing my eyeball. (Not too confidentially) I think he was massaging my eye trying to make my condition worse so I would have to return. There is nothing he could have seen in the repetitious requests to look directionally that couldn't have been seen in the first or second series. After coming home I realized i should have told him to STOP when it got so painful! Since going there I have had different type of "floaters" in my vision. Very perturbed about the whole exam. Same diagnosis but I expect further… damage from his exam. (Doc: remove your 70s photo--you now have white hair and no 'stache.)

About 7 yrs ago, Dr. Fox diagnosed me with a condition of something he said he had only seen in a textbook. I went through some tests, followed up the next year, but the changing technology rendered the data incomparable. The only solid I have is a series of pictures of the backs of my eyeballs.

I've taken my grandmother to numerous appointments over the years with different physicians to treat her meningioma, and neither Fox nor his staff ever treated her well. The wait times, regardless of appointment time, typically lasted anywhere between 1-2 hours. His bedside manner is poor, as he acted as though he didn't care when he had to inject her eyes. He acts as though he has much better things to be doing than to be taking of his patients and often made us feel as though we were bothering him with coming to an appointment and then asking questions. We will never return and have found another physician. I have no interest in supporting physicians who believe they are better than the rest of us. They are in a service profession and need to appreciate that.

It was along wait to see Dr.Fox,but I see now because of him.Thank you Dr.Fox
