This guy definitely thinks he's a hot shot. I have chronic migraine and told me I'm going to end up on disability. Apparently I didn't do my part as a patient. So much for months of detailed migraine journal he didn't even look at them most of the time. Our last appointment he belittled me the entire time. Probably to make himself feel better instead of treating me like a person.

I have had the privilege of having Dr. Hanes as my Neurologist for many years. Accordingly, I recognize that I am paying him because he is not only the finest neurologist in Sarasota, but considered one of the best in his field in the county. It took a visit or two to warm up to his bed-side manner which is quick-witted and direct. However, his diagnostic capabilities and corresponding interventions have been life changing for me and my family.

Wife diagnosed with terminal illness referred to as CBD. Cortico basal degeneration! Dr Hanes worked with us to alleviate pain and anxiety for years. I am thankful he is in Sarasota!

Contrary to some of the other comments I've read here, I found Dr. Hanes to be very direct, focused, and sensitive to my needs. He welcomed a discussion on a wide range of possibilities I had in my head about my symptoms, and quickly worked through a series of tests that dispelled most, one by one. Exactly what I needed to feel I was being listened to and cared for. If you are looking for a soft and cuddly bedside manner, then perhaps his directness may take some getting used to. But if you want a pragmatic, personalized and efficient consultation - he's your man.

A very special thanks to a man who devotes his skills and professionalism with helping a patient in need. Dr. Hanes welcome both my wife and myself into the exam room as he tentatively listened to my chief complaints. Explaining and preforming a bi lateral EMG and NCS test on my arms he briefed us of his findings upon the test conclusion. With his expertise we are able to take the next step for a resolve. Office is very busy, Both dr. Hanes and assistants are excellent and caring

arrogant dr. and a terribly managed office; seems very disorganized since their main doctor , dr. negrosky, left the practice.

He should not be allowed to evaluate neuro patients in an ER. He is not qualified. Arrogant, condescending, badgering, and medically inaccurate in a 1:1800/year diagnosis that I knew more about having a had the same 4 years ago at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. I could have died as he refused to consult the doctor I've been followed by in Sarasota. "I'm the expert" he told me. Looked in my eye with opthalmoscope and said, "I'm not very good at this". Didn't look in the other or consult an opthalmologist. He may be adequate at neuromuscular diseases in an office, but not acute, serious emergency neurological events.

I saw Dr. Hanes at Sarasota Memorial Hospital having been transported by ambulance and admitted for disorientation and sudden confusion. I found Dr. Hanes to be very bright, insightful about medical issues and helpful.I would not hesitate to recommend him.
