Dr. Gregory Mula

When I told Dr. Mula my symptoms and what I was experiencing, he gave me the wrong diagnosis. Wrong medicine too. He wouldn’t even look at prior xrays that showed what the problem was. When I asked him questions, he went silent and wouldn’t even respond.

My husband was referred to Dr. Mula for gastro bleeding. Had very low iron and hematocrit. Dr. Mula ran two tests, said they were normal (in spite of positive occult blood in stool), told him it was a virus and to call if he had any questions. We were dumbfounded! So we made an appt. With another doctor in Covington who repeated the tests Dr. Mula did plus two others. My husband was in the hospital having surgery and hospitalized for a week when results came in. Dr. Mula couldn't be bothered to run any other tests then the basics and it caused a great deal of time he suffered when it could have been diagnosed much earlier. Dr. Mula offers all these wonderful new tests but not sure what symptoms are required before he gives them. Poor relationship to patients. Would not ever send anyone to him.

I've been a patient of Dr. Mula's for >10 years. I happened upon this section while looking for his Hammond address. I usually ignore this type of format and the ugly hateful comments people have. I work in the medical field and encounter many physicians daily. DR. MULA IS ONE OF THE KINDEST, MOST GENUINE MAN AND PHYSICIAN OUT THERE. He's an outstanding example of what a Christian should act and be like. I trust him 100% with my life and the lives of my family.

Let me please put this out there!!!! BEWARE, BEWARE. BEWARE. 1st time/ONLY time visiting here. Dr. Mula is very twisted. Not only is he twisted but he's not a caring Godly man and should not even have a license. He has no clue what bedside manners means so he needs to be knocked down a notch and remember where he comes from. Anyways, I'm a elderly female that was recently diagnosed with HEP C; baby boomers get tested. I'm pretty sure I know where I got Hep from along with the rest of the world right, so just that has me feeling a certain kinda way but I can't erase my past. We're talking 30+ years ago. I was referred to this place and had the pleasure of meeting this Mula ....... I'd say gentleman or doctor but he wasn't neither. He examined me and we were going through paperwork and I was honest and told him that I actively smoke ?? marijuana, no need in lying. He turned and got up, opened the door and said "grab your water, I'll see you in 3 months if you wish". I was so dumb… founded by his reaction that I went into shock. I got totally embarrassed, feelings hurt and flabbergasted that he just treated me like a piece of trash, 2nd class or worse. This world is a horrible place already then you have a "doctor" to freak out over marijuana! In 2018. Seriously?? I'd never stop smoking marijuana, that's my sleeping pill at night. ?? People, just a fair warning bc I don't want anyone else to feel the way I did that day. So yes, lie to this quack, I don't know what else to say. Better yet, bypass this place.

I had the misfortune of selecting Dr Mula for colon Issues I was experiencing. Had the colonoscopy and by early evening was experiencing fever. The fever continued to climb and a trip was made to the emergency room where it was discovered that the colon had been perforated and was spilling into my body cavity. Was admitted and spent a week on intravenous antibiotics. At that time Dr.Mula failed to visit me in the hospital or inquire about my well being. He is a physician that thinks that he has no responsibility to his patients. Definitely would not recommend him. I am now afraid to have a colonoscopy done, and as a result, my health is at risk.

Great doctor did two surgery on me i heal fast recovery went well very very good doctor.

I have been looking for a good GI doctor for some time and a friend recommended Dr. Mula. To be honest I was a bit skeptical after reading the reviews, but trusting my friend, I went to the appointment. The front desk was very helpful with all the paperwork. The waiting room was spacious and well appointed, plus really nice, comfortable chairs. Dr. Mula was such a peasant surprise to me! He was immediately very personable and made me feel at ease right off the bat. He listened to my laborious list of complaints; explained the probabilities of what was ailing me in a way that I fully understood what he was talking about. No one had been this thorough with me in the past 20 or 30 years. I kept waiting for something to go wrong with the appointment, as I can be really critical about poor care, but as I said, I kept being surprised by how much information he was giving me, about a condition that plagues my everyday life. After examining me, he recommended 2 procedures and explained them… to me in detail. He was also very knowledgeable about gluten issues, and said he was going to take a biopsy while he was doing the upper GI. This could potentially clear up the mystery I've had for a long time about my sensitivity to gluten. This made me so happy! Not ONE of all the doctors, dieticians, nurse practitioners, or physician assistants that I have seen in 3 different states have had any knowledge of this condition, and here was Dr. Mula, a veritable expert in the field. Right here in Hammond. I left there after scheduling the procedures with a very patient scheduler, feeling like I'd just won the lottery! To feel like I can trust a doctor with my specific healthcare needs after decades of unsatisfactory appointments, means everything to me. My faith in the medical profession has been restored by my visit with Dr. Mula. I just can't say enough good things about him and the potential I now have to restore my health and wellbeing again.

Went to see Dr. Mula for severe GI symptoms with a history of colon cancer in my family. He acted quickly to do colonoscopy and EGD. Following those procedures he and his staff will not respond to questions nor seem to care to follow up and figure out what is going on. Would not recommend him.

I can't believe the comments on here, I have known Dr. Mula for 9 years, and his staff and Dr. Mula treat you like gold. I get in and out, unless there is and emergency, he treats me with respect, i would trust Dr. Mula with my life....
