Dr. Gregory John Onderko, DO

Dr. Onderko saved me from a lifetime of depression. He took the time to what I told him and how I felt. Then he put me on the appropriate medicines and I have been feeling great for years. He's a kind and compassionate man. Stewart D

fine at first, till i presented him with a real problem outside psychiatry/ personal issue.

I saw him during pregnancy and he honestly stated he wouldn't recommend the abilify shot to his daughter. I saw him again to redo a psych eval. I was first diagnosed with schizophrenia but then heard from several doctors it could be a different diagnosis. He kept going on about the importance of a shot for schizophrenia. I kept asking when are we going to get to the psych eval? We can address treatment after we get the proper diagnosis. He went on explaining what schizophrenia was. Then went on about medication again. I informed him i have a BA in Psychology and am very aware of schizophrenia. It was apparent he was not going to do the eval so i left. Felt taken advantage of. Caused trauma reliving the times of being taken advantage of by many because of my mental illness and childhood youth. Many of these therapist and psychiatrist are sick themselves and have never received treatment. Some abuse drugs because of the guilt from taking advantage of patients and pressuring medication… even on pregnant women. Sometimes its their boss pressuring them to do this. They think they are getting away with this and are afraid of leaving their lifestyle, but the guilt grows and they get sicker. Don't see how he can sleep at night. Stay away.

He claims he has made a great living in life and doesn't have to be here at suncoast in st.pete. I don't know his experiences with others but with me it was horrible. He intimidated me, yelled at me and my support system (mom, nephew, case manager). He was arrogant and bragged about all he has done in his field. He later stormed out of his office after yelling at us and kicking us out. We didn't even get to address the reason we were there which was med management. He scared and affected me so much i had a panic attack as i walked out his office. People standing around helped my ao called dr. O did nothing. Didnt even ask me how i was doing when i went to see him nor when i was having panic attack.

I have read all 23 of the reviews. Dr. Onderko has the best interest of his patients at heart and literally saved my life! I personally have witnessed the comments regarding his office staff, but to my knowledge resolved. As far as the comments regarding Dr. O, I also have witnessed those patients he had to deal with and he handled them professionally. He is the best by far in his profession and does so with care and professionalism. I would recommend anyone to him in a heartbeat.

Dr Onderko helped me to deal with Holidays Blues... they were Green! Ha,ha. You got to Believe... He says. Awesome Psychiatrist! Thumbs Up!

Moved to Bradenton from out of state. My Psychiatrist spent an average of 5 to ten minutes with me for the past 3 years. Dr. Onderko took time to understand my condition, changed me to a better medication and I feel much better now.

I am back on track thanks to the Amazing care of Dr Onderko. I came to him very depressed & hearing voices. He evaluated me and is treating my condition. I am back to school and smiling at life!! Thank you Dr Onderko. Very Good Psychiatrist!!
