Dr. Gwendolyn Kay Shipe, MD

She is not board certified, for starters. My daughter was hearing voices and she gave her lithium. Subsequent doctors have said this is dangerous. She had a bad reaction, and when we reported that to Dr. Shipe, she said my daughter didn't need any drugs at all. Dr. Shipe is all about selling vitamins. She doesn't practice psychiatry. If you need psychiatric help, go someplace else.

I have been a patient of Shipe’s for over a year. She has been patient and understanding of my situation. She’s easy to talk to and shows high interest and spends the necessary time with me. I have a medical condition for which I am pursuing alternative as well as traditional therapy. She is very flexible and works with me. I would recommend her to anyone. She is definitely a five star doctor.

I was a patient of Dr. Shipe's for about a year. She was appeared to be helpful for a small period of time, but over time seemed inattentive, unsympathetic, and was not understanding. Overall, I had a bad experience.

Ditto! I normally don't write reviews for anything, and never would have thought that one day I would be writing one for my new psych doctor, but such is life when a simple visit to the right MD feels like a fog have been lifted off your psyche, and the proverbial weight off your shoulders. I was afraid it will be the same old sullen and robotic visits I have had with my PCP, and didn't hold out much hope for the prescribed treatment from Dr. Shipe, but oh boy! I am sorry if it sounds like I am overly excited, but being heard and feeling some-what "normal" is something that I have come to value. Thanks to Dr. Shipe's expertise and patient, I have more confidence moving forward. I hope that from now onward, I won't have to work twice as hard mentally in order to be average (yeah, hefty goals -- I know).

Wouldn't recommend her to anyone. Worst experience
