Dr. Hannah Cherian Sweet, MD

We are dealing with an extremely volatile and unstable adopted teenager who had failed numerous outpatient interventions (four therapists), is violent at home and at school, and also has a police record. Our lawyer has been involved to help us navigate the system and its complexities. Dr. Sweet's first interaction with our lawyer was to voice how she felt about adopted children "being dumped" in the ER. She also took issue with our child only speaking Spanish. I will say upon calling Rady's, the extremely kind nursing team (thank you) passed our request for another doctor to take over our child's case considering that her personal opinions were voiced to our attorney before we even received a CAPS medical update. Our child had been in the department for maybe 90 minutes when this happened. Hey, Dr. Sweet? Maybe you should consider another career or at least learn how to fake a modicum of bedside manner and keep your personal, uninformed opinions out of your day to day care. You… have no idea what families go through, and you clearly didn't bother to read the 15 page timeline of disciplinary issues, the two page document outlining the child's police record, and additional evidence we brought with us to the ER. Your lack of professionalism is appalling. And maybe, if you don't want to deal with a Spanish speaking population, you should try an area that isn't San Diego. Despicable.

Dr would not return calls in timely manner in regards to new medication side effects. Would take multiple calls and emails to respond to a high priority in regards to side effects. For a 16 year old. Really awful. Had the audacity to write Childs Mother was "over the top". Definitely would not recommend her to anyone.

Couldn't possibly rate Dr. Sweet highly enough! She is one in a million!
