Cannot get an appointment

I’ll be forever grateful to Dr. Shuhaiber for taking his time to listen and understand my complicated health and life history and help with my sufferings.

After many years of not knowing my diagnosis he was finally able to get me my genetics diagnosis. Many physicians failed to reach diagnosis over 20years period. Very grateful for knowing what I exactly have going on with me. Thanks for being an amazing physician.

He literally didn't listen to me. I answered the same questions multiple times, which I didn't mind, but he said that I said things that I didn't say and clearly was not listening. After correcting him multiple times, telling him that I didn't say what he said I had said, I told him I felt like he was not listening and he told me that he didn't "have patience" and I was "going too fast" and I ultimately just left. It was one of the weirdest and rudest experiences I've ever had with a doctor. I don't even leave reviews unless someone is really great or really, really, truly bad, and I feel that this doctor probably does a disservice to patients, if my appointment was at all indicative of how he treats other patients; and considering the cost and time put into an appointment, it seems like some people would visit this doctor and become discouraged and not keep moving forward. This is not okay, especially in our system where appointments with neurologists can have long waiting… lists and cost a lot, and we already have so many people not getting the help they need because of costs and disliking doctors. It's really not okay regardless of our system just in general, to say in front of a patient that "most patients tend to exaggerate symptoms" does make the environment a little weird and then the patient may feel that the doctor probably thinks they're exaggerating, but that wasn't even my issue. I chose to ignore that part and keep moving forward with the appointment (I do think it's something worth noting, in hindsight, obviously.), but it's what is really a great disservice is to not listen to the patient. I really never experienced a doctor just not listening and cutting me off and saying I said things I didn't say. It was like his head was not all there. I really do hope that this was just a one-off because wow, absolutely useless appointment and waste of everyone's time.

He is excellent Neurologist dedicated to his patients...
