Dr. Harold K. Smith, MD

5 yrs ago a golf ball sized tumor was found in my frontal lobe. Scared as most of us would be I was referred to a local Doctor in Midland. After meeting the Doctor I was far from impressed due to horrible bed side manner. I was lucky enough to find Dr. Smith my first visit with Dr. Smith was great. He looked at me told me I had to have surgery to have the tumor removed ASAP no excuses and no time to think about it. I loved that about him and to this day I would trust no one other than Dr. Smith and his team. They are amazing and he is a true blessing in my families life. The appointment waits are long, but what do you expect when you are seeing of the best Neurosurgeons in Texas.

A doctor who looks at you and tells you that your okay after being admitted into a hospital. Can't walk, can't bathe or dress myself. Aweful back pain and throbbing headache that doesn't go away. Tells me to go home and deal with it, and telling me he doesn't believe I have pain like this. We have been told numerous times he was coming in to see us after nuroligist found more findings in my spine and brain, and nurses told us he wrote off on me that I didn't need to be seen. This was before the new findings. I am disabled and have seen many doctors in my lifetime and this doctor is by far the worst in communication, bed side manner, and could care less about the way an individual feels.

He may not smile, and often looks tired but if you are looking for the BEST Neurosurgeon in the Lubbock area....Look no further......You have found Dr. Harold Smith & in my opinion He is the only Dr. I would allow to touch my Head/Brain. Yes at times the waiting time is long, but.....The BEST is worth waiting for.

he removed a tumor of mine for that i am very grateful. although i contracted mrsa and got osteomylitis from the surgery and had to have a second surgery to remove a peice of my skull indefinately. and it was very very painful having to have two surgerys on my head within two weeks of eachother. a year later i follow up with an eye doctor who saw something he was concerned about n refered me back to neurologist, smiths staff said there was no need to see me. I will be finding another doctor unfortunately :(

Dr. Smith was a Awesome surgeon, I didn't mind the wait because i knew he was the person to cut open my head. Dr. Smith and the nurse made sure i was taken care of in ICU. I recovered in less then six week. And will continue to see him yearly to make sure tumor doesn't return.I am able to see clearly!!! thank you

Dr. Smith takes time to explain what is going on, the treatment plan and outcome. Dr. Smith cares about his patients, you may wait for long period of time but know when it's your time he will not rush. I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Smith.

Yes Thanks to all of Smith's staff and Him I am very greatfull for everthing He has done for me, He has worked in my best interested for years now He is wonderfull.

Dr smith is a great Doctor he's very caring about the people he cares for and has a great staff chad is great he is always checking on my wife we are blessed to have had them taking care of my wife

From the first call to the office to the post operative visit, the staff was top notch!. I had 3 herniated disks in my lower lumbar with severe sciatica. Every step I took brought me to tears!. Initially Chad (NP) informed me that it would be treated as conservatively as possible. Dr. Smith advised us that it would definitely a strong surgical candidate!. For as much as I didn't want surgery, I equally couldn't stand the pain! They were able to work me into surgery the following morning utilizing the most conservative approach. No screws, no fusion, micro diskectomy, and 2 days following the surgery, I am myself again! Recovering, but all pain is gone and I would recommend Dr. Smith to anyone!
