Dr. Harris Samuel Rose, MD

I highly recommend Dr Rose for tennis elbow treatment. After successfully treating my tennis elbow steroid shots, my tendon became almost fully detached and required surgery. Dr Harris was fantastic as as his physical therapy team. I am fully recovered and back to doing almost everything I could before - even lifting weights. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Rose & his staff have been treating my arthritic thumbs for more than 6 years. Now that it's time for surgery, I wouldn't let anybody BUT Dr. Rose touch my hands. I highly recommend Dr. Rose for your upper extremity issues.

This doctor is amazing. I broke my wrist a year ago with surgery that was botched. I live three and a half hours from Austin but I was referred to Dr. Rose so I took a chance. Boy , am I glad I did. Was back to work in two weeks and very little pain. Got to hold my Grandchild for the first time with no pain. I would not hesitate letting this Dr. operate on me again. Thank you Dr. Rose.

Dr. Harris Rose is an incredible physician and stellar individual. He has treated multiple people in my family, myself included, with procedures ranging from carpal tunnel and shoulder surgeries, to diagnosing a complex and extremely rare arterial condition in my young nephew. Not only is he an excellent surgeon, but he is a gifted doctor who takes time with his patients, provides diligent care and continues to raise the bar in medical treatment and service excellence.

After cutting my hand when a glass I was washing broke (note: never put your hand inside a glass; use a bottle brush -- I've since learned this is a common hand injury) and having to get stitches at what has to be one of the tiniest ER's in the U.S., Ruidoso NM, once I got home I was concerned that some of the stitches were coming loose. I saw a different hand/plastic surgeon in Austin who was concerned I might have partially cut a tendon; he mentioned operating to check out the tendon. I decided to get a second opinion and asked my primary care physician, my husband's primary care physician, and a nurse I know who recently had hand surgery and they all recommended Dr. Rose (he operated on the nurse's hand). When an R.N. recommends a doctor, and especially if she has had personal experience with the doctor, that holds weight with me.So I saw Dr. Rose a week ago and he reassured me that he did not recommend surgery; he thought I might have cut my tendon but if I did he said it was a… very remote possibility that I had cut it enough to warrant surgery (which would be a cut of 50% or more of the tendon). I asked about the possibility of the tendon rupturing later if I did cut it severely, and he said if that happened he could repair it then with no worse outcome for having waited.I saw Dr. Rose again yesterday to have the sutures removed, and he again put my mind to rest about the tendon.I also asked him about my painful left wrist (I've been diagnosed with De Quervain's tendonitis and have already had a cortisone injection with a different hand surgeon, to no effect). Dr. Rose said that 90% of his patients with DQ have complete relief after he gives them a cortisone shot (the doctor who did my shot said only about 50% of his patients have total relief), and that for the 10% who don't, he can do a simple, 10 minute surgical procedure to fix the problem.I was impressed with Dr. Rose's caring manner and his patience in answering my questions. Even though he had a very full waiting room at my first appt. and they had worked me in to see him, he was not rushed at all. He also has a confident manner but without seeming arrogant, like a lot of doctors.If I do need another cortisone shot for my wrist I will go to Dr. Rose, and I would feel very comfortable having him do surgery on my hand or wrist.

I can't say enough about Dr. Rose and his entire staff. I recommend Dr. Rose very highly.

After a bad fall from a roof, I severely broke my arm and elbow. After an unsuccessful surgery from another surgeon, I went to Dr. Rose. I am in the medical field and when I needed a second surgeon I kept getting Dr. Rose's name with every referall source I went to. After a successful second surgery, I got the following comment from my rehab therapist. "I am so happy for you, because I really did not think you would have a good outcome". I can also tell you, he is humble. He sought out advice from many colleagues to insure that his approach was the best.
