Saw Dr Winkler in '22 for both prolapsed uterus & bladder. Hysterectomy surgery went well but continued to have bladder problems, saw a different uro-gynecologist who said the bladder prolapse surgery had failed (less than a year later!) and after repair he also found interstitial cystitis (or IC). Dr Winkler's office uses small plastic clip catheters to take urine samples instead of cups, and these are done at every testing or visit by his office staff, who insert them very painfully & obviously lack experience. I feel that a major cause of my incurable IC if from having my bladder repeatedly clip catheterized, with no choice of using urine sample cups, as I was told by staff "this is how we do it here." Do not recommend Dr Winkler if you want to keep a healthy bladder

My body had been in prolapse for about 5 or more years. I got tired of feeling that "ball" and knew it was time to think about surgery. My gynecologist recommended Dr. Winkler, saying he was "the best" in the area. I trust my gynecologist whole-heartedly so off I went. The office is busy but prompt. The entire staff friendly and professional. Dr. Winkler was very nice, seemed a bit hurried at one or two appointments but answered whatever questions I had each time. Having had a bad experience with childbirth, whenever something is going on with my lower body, I am EXTREMELY anxious. Whatever fears I had about this surgery disappeared the morning of surgery. Dr. Winkler saw me before I went to the OR and he was his same swift, Confident self. Surgery went well as he assured me, i stayed overnight and was actually leaning toward staying another night to ease my own anxious mind. When Dr. Winkler came in and told me I was good to go, and that I'd be better off at home I was a bit… disappointed but realized he was absolutely right. I would have never gotten any sleep there and that is what I needed most at that point. FYI, I was informed by my close friend who was an administrator for a well-known NYC hospital that sometimes "confidence" is misinterpreted as "cockiness" when it comes to excellence in surgeons. All I know is Dr. Harvey Winkler is a good surgeon and I will have no problem going back to him in the future if anything else ever turns up.

My life is forever changed for the worse. I would not recommend any surgery with this practice. Run and run far if any doctor there tells you they will operate and you will feel better. Get pelvic floor physical therapy outside of their office. An ethical doctor would prescribe PT before cutting you and putting mesh inside your body. Not a day goes by that don't live in pain and fear of having an accident in public.

Dr winkler and staff are very knowledgeable,explained in detail the surgery I was having .Answered all of my questions and made me feel very comfortable I had a partial hysterectomy and bladder lift, all went well.

I did not have a good experience with Dr. Winkler. He explained absolutely nothing what he was doing during the pelvic exam. Showed lack of empathy as well.

I'm usually suspicious these review sites because you never know what motivates someone to someone to post, but I am so grateful to Dr. Winkler for all he has done to help me. It makes such a difference that I have to share.

I would recommend Doctor Winkler for any woman who has any prolapses . He was wonderful and I would use him 100 0/0 again

After struggling with a prolapsed bladder (and more) for years, I am a new woman! I was at the point at which I could no longer sit, stand, walk or urinate without discomfort. The problem was completely gone immediately after surgery and I could not be more grateful. I want to thank Dr. Winkler for this life changing operation. And I recommend him highly to anyone suffering with this issue.

My gun told me Dr. Winkler is the best urogynecologist in New York and he was 100% right. Don't hesitate. He changed my life and I will always be grateful.
