Dr. Heather Christine Harasty, MD

A poor communicator at best, completely incompetent at diagnoses with implicit biases against people of color at worst, I would avoid Dr. Harasty. She is a hospitalist at Northwest Hospital in Tucson, Arizona.

Dr. Harasty is the most thorough doctor I have ever been to, and this is saying a lot as I've been to many. She is very concientious, detail oriented, and stays up to date on current research and technology. She takes time to ask questions and listen to responses to a greater extent than many I have seen. I would highly recommend her to all family and friends.

Absolutely terrible experience. I've never taken the time to write an online review before, but I feel it's important to urge potential patients to stay away from this particular doctor. She is rude, will rush you, will not review your medical history carefully, will not explain conditions thoroughly and most importantly she is incompetent. If you want a caring doctor or an accurate diagnosis please go elsewhere. There are some wonderful, brilliant doctors in Jackson, but unfortunately she is not one of them.

On the one hand she is competent and friendly. She appears to keep up to date. On the other hand be very very very very careful about pointing out mistakes her office staff make (they are careless and don't seem to care about doing a good job) or if you decide to make an issue if they don't correct them. She is very defensive and quick to anger with this. She will dump you in a heartbeat if she thinks you are criticizing her. If she dumps you (if any doctor in that big practice dumps you) then you are banned from the entire Baptist system - primary care doctors, specialists, etc. That doesn't seem right or ethical but that is how they operate. The waits to be seen are incredibly long.
