Heather Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 16 years of experience. She focuses on working with teens and young adults, and is eager to help adolescents navigate through a variety of self-identified emotional and behavioral struggles; including anger management, developing coping skills, improving self-esteem, and reducing cognitive distortions. Heather also has a unique specialty certification as a Sex Offender Treatment Provider (CSOTP), focusing on juveniles with sexual aggression struggles. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Clemson University. She provides a modern, realistic, solution-focused approach to therapy, with a blend of mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Heather believes that a strong support system, whether familiar or social, is crucial to the therapeutic process and the future success of clients.
