Dr. Helen M Salsbury, MD

I didn’t meet Dr. Salsbury until 36 weeks—until then I only saw her daughter (PA), who was cold and dismissive. Dr. Salsbury was also rushed and made inappropriate comments. After giving birth, I had severe swelling, headaches, and high blood pressure. She dismissed my symptoms and told me to go home and get a foot massage. Days later, I was hospitalized with postpartum preeclampsia, fluid in my lungs, and an enlarged heart. I could’ve had a seizure or worse. As a Black woman, I felt unheard and unsafe. I would never recommend this office.

Totally unprofessional, rude, and inappropriately hostile towards patients. Oversteps boundaries to personally insult and attack her patients. Raises her voice at patients, and complains openly about them. Cannot keep diagnoses straight, changes her mind from day to day, and recommends potentially risky and unconventional interventions. Does not answer medical questions sufficiently and seems to interpret patient concerns as personal attacks against her. Office staff is rude and fails to follow up on ordering important medications and verifying insurance benefits multiple times, doctor does not follow up with them and leaves patients with the responsibility to call office repeatedly for these things. Office staff sends patients to call insurance to verify benefits themselves. Very little consideration for patient privacy. Patient records are left on counter to be viewed by other patients as they are checking out. Doctor continues to discuss private health information outside of the… examination room in the presence of other patients. Her surgical schedule is prominently displayed with patients' names and procedures listed on it. Doctor discusses patient information on the phone with patient's spouse, without the express permission of the patient. Brings medical students into room for vaginal exams without asking the patient first of this is okay.

My apt was scheduled one month prior to my visit. I was called the day before to be reminded and I asked the person who called was auth. and referral (they sent req. to my Primary care) received for the procedure I was told yes everything is ok. I showed up at 9.42 for my 9.45am appt. After sitting and waiting I was called at 10.40am to ask if I had my referral. I said you must be kidding, she said I needed a referral. Why after sitting there for 55 mins did they not know my referral was missing. You can well imagine how angry I was, I said please give me back the copay and let me go. They wanted to call my Priimary care while I waited for however long for a response, or reschedule. No my time is valuable ,they were all sitting around chatting and if they had paid attention from the moment I signed in they would have noticed the referral was missing. I am sorry we do not have to or should we accept unprofessional behavior, not when we have choices.

I LOVE Dr. Salsbury. She is an excellent doctor. Very thorough and professional. She really takes time to answer questions and is very knowledgeable. She is Aldo very pro natural birth and really goes out of her way to make birthing experience exceptional. Highly recommend without AT&T reservations.

She is an excellent OBGyn who took extra care the entire pregnancy and during the delivery. She delivered my 2nd child and I wish she would have delivered my first. EXCELLENT Doctor!

A SIMPLE REMOVAL OF THE OVERIES ENDED UP IN A PUNCTURED SMALL INTENSTINE. MY WIF E ALMOST DIED FROM THIS. THE DOXCTOR FAILED TO INFORM OF OF THIS MISTAKE UNTIL IT WAS ALMOST TO LATE. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE !!!!

It's always hard to go to the gyn but this doctor and her staff make this visit very pleasant. I'm so happy to have found this doctor. She is professional and fun at the same time - she really puts you at ease and explains the medical jargon in words you can understand. Very thorough with her exam and follow-up. I appreciate that in doctors these days - It's hard to find.
