Dr. Henry Paul Birnbaum, MD

In 2000 at age 55, I summited Mt. Kilimanjaro. Shortly, thereafter, I made my first routine visit to Dr. Birnbaum’s office. He immediately impressed me with his specific questions regarding my medical history and his unhurried interest in my answers. Over the years, this has not changed. What did change was my health. In 2011 I came to him with severe pain in my lower back. The MRI showed that I had ruptured two discs. Not used to being in any way physically limited, I willingly followed his suggested regimen of exercise. Within a matter of weeks, I was able to move about again without discomfort, and somewhat later, I was back to doing those things that are typical of my lifestyle. The highpoint of my convalescence, however, came when I climbed the Grand Teton in Wyoming. At almost 14,000 feet, with some rockface ropework involved, this was the ultimate test of my improved physical condition. In the years since then, Dr. Birnbaum has quietly and consistently monitored my physical… ups and downs. When asked for advice in health matters outside his specialty, he offers his opinions with an open mind also to alternative forms of medicine. In short, even more than his skill as a medical practitioner, it is his sincere and caring manner for my well-being, as when we sit in his office seemingly devoid of time, that I so value as a patient. I have gone to Dr. Birnbaum three times. I like that has spent a decent amount of time with me and gives practical advice. He is also nice, which I see others have noted. My boyfriend also went to him and we both think that he is very good.

Dr. Birnbaum is the most professional, kindest and best diagnostician I know. He spends more than enough time with every patient. He follows-up within 24 hours of any test. I had an MRI of my knee and he called me the next day. I highly recommend him!
