Dr. Henry R Wagner JR., MD

Doctor seemed content to push intermittent self catheritization without much follow up. Side effects from previous procedures may have created additional problems. Sought second opinion on course of treatment which was completely different than originally dictated by Dr Wagner.

I only spoke to the doctor during the initial visit and five minutes before surgery. The rest of the time during my month-long recovery process was spent talking to his nurse. I had complications following the procedure and yet I never got to speak to the doctor or see him as a result of those complications. After the initial procedure didn't work, the telephone response I got from the nurse was that there was nothing else they could do. I ended up going somewhere else and had the issue taken care of without a problem. There was practically no communication between the physician and myself, as it was mediated through the nurse for everything.

I called this office during what I felt was an emergency. As with most offices, they did not have an actual opening that day, but worked me in as soon as they said possible. They also asked questions and advised me enough to easy me mind before my appointment days later. Once I met Dr. Wagner and his staff, I could see first hand that they are truly a busy office but try to help each patient. You could see the activity going on in the office while there. I ended up scheduling surgery with his office and was diagnosed with something that wasn't even his field of expertice. Probably something that had bothered me for years and I just didn't know it. Quite impressed with this office.

The Physician was great, on one visit he gave more than an hour to my wife and me on what we should expect for my Prostate Cancer treatment options. I have very high confidence in his diagnostic skills and in his surgical skills. PROBLEMS: (1) The Doctor or his RN take DAYS to return questions left with the office staff. (2) The office staff has been there for years and they officiously treat you like you are an intrusion on their life. (3) This Doctor's idea of office modernization is his jurassic fax machine (NO voice mail and NO e-mail and NO web page)
