I could not be more delighted with the Femtosecond Laser assisted nuclear cataract surgery Dr. Hilla Steinberg performed on my eyes earlier this year. I credit Dr. Steinberg’s combined skills in laser technology and manual technique with restoring my eyesight to the highest level possible. It has been more than a decade since I have seen so well. Dr. Steinberg has been forthright in explaining the macular issues affecting my eyesight, along with coordinating her care of my eyes with the retina specialists at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. Dr Steinberg is an EXCELLENT opthalmologist. She is friendly, she is extremely well-versed in her field, and I can't believe someone wrote that she was "only interested in cosmetic surgery". Nothing could be further than the truth. As a mixed race woman, I have a profoundly difficult problem finding non-prejudicial medical care in NYC. I honestly believe that racist perspectives are built-in to physicians who practice in this city. Perhaps because Dr. Steinberg was not trained here, she is relatively unfettered by those 'lessons' in dehumanization. Her staff is also very friendly, there is actual ease in making appointments, and I wish that the medical establishment in New York City would incorporate less racism and more health care providision for those of us who made the prenatal decision to not be white.

THis place is horrible. THe receptionist knows nothing about eyes and laughs about it if you ask her a question. The doctor is more interested in offering Botox than giving you a complete eye exam. They charge you $150 even when they accept insurance and lie to tell you that you will get it refunded but it will never come back. Go to a real doctor do not waste your time here!!!
