Summary
I was born and raised in Myanmar (formally known as Burma). I earned my medical degree from Institute of Medicine inYangon (Rangoon). My father was a dentist who was fascinated with medicine. He encouraged me to love science and medicine from the time I was young. During my training, I explored many specialties of medicine, but fell in love with taking care of children. In pediatrics, because our patients are young, I feel it is an opportunity for me to have the greatest impact on a person's life. I completed my pediatric internship at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center, Bronx, New York, followed by pediatric residency at the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center in 1994. I was very impressed with the comprehensive care that Kaiser Permanente offers; I joined soon after finishing my training. I worked at Kaiser Permanente in Fontana from July 1994 until 2006, and subsequently transferred to Kaiser Permanente in San Dimas to be closer to my family.
