Dr. Hong Wang, MD

I always throw up badly after my surgery. I was very nervous about it and told Dr. Wang about this problem. She listened to me and suggested to me that it may be due to some of the pain medicine I was taking after the surgery. She asked the nurse to give me different types of medicine and I did not throw up after this surgery!

My husband need a shoulder surgery and he has a breathing problem. We do not want him take a lot of drugs for pain afterwards. We talked to her (Dr. Wang) about our concerns. She explained to us in details. Her bedside manner is wonderful. My husband had a painless recovery thanks to her.

It must have been a busy day when I came in to have surgery. I had a similar procedure a few years back and received sedation. When she discussed her choice of anesthesia, sedation was not mentioned. So I told her about having a good experience in the past with it and she she became upset! Her English was already a challenge to understand, but I could make out a single word she said after she became angry. As it turned out my surgery was delayed and another anesthesiologist was assigned to me. I had sedation and did really great.

When Dr Wang interviewed me in the the Preoperative area, she made a negative with my husband and I. She approached my bed side talking on the phone while reviewing my chart. Then, she shouted across the room for assistance. This made me nervous, because she still had not introduced herself to me and hearing her shout for help made feel something was terribly wrong. Anyhow, when she finally did introduce herself, ask me health related questions and attempt to explain the anesthetic; I could hardly understand her English. It was a frustrating experience. She did inject numbing medication into my leg to prevent post surgical pain, sadly it did not work. I could not recommend this physician, she needs a class on customer service and to learn to give numbing medication.
