Dr. Hongyu Wen, MD

Long waits, doesn't address you, impersonal! Will not look up from the computer entire visit! If u visit anything other than a cold, sends u to psychiatrist! Not everyone is crazy, ever think to listen to your patients and validate their concerns with proper testing?

Started going to Dr. Wen because she was accepting new patients. She is a very nice person, but really does not seem to truly care about my concerns or deal with them. She would go through routines, but in the end of diagnosing anything, she would off me to a specialist without discussing or saying much.

I absolutely agree with the majority who expressed her lack of concern, does not like to be questioned, does not listen, appears to be too busy to take time with you when you try to ask questions, she is abrupt, unconcerned. No follow ups. Beside manners, she has none. Those who gave a positive review must be in a class that she feels is worthy of her time. People who maybe related to her professional friends or relatives. I must say her staff is very courteous and shows more concern then ms. Wen. Needless to say I'm looking for a new doctor.

I came to Dr. Wen for an annual check-up, to get the HPV vaccine, and to get a PPD test. Dr. Wen did the check-up half-heartedly. She told me that I had to go to a gynecologist for for the HPV vaccine because she cannot give it. I've never heard of a family practice physician who is unable to administer common vaccines such as the HPV vaccine. She then told be that she was unable to give me the PPD test because her nurse took the day off. Afterwards I asked the secretary why Dr. Wen was unable to give me the PPD test (which is a simple injection that takes 5 seconds). The secretary said that Dr. Wen should be able to do it, but when she went to talk to Dr. Wen the doctor was in another appointment and unavailable. In conclusion, Dr. Wen wanted me to come in the next day for a PPD test, two days after that to get it read, and then make another trip to a gynecologist for the HPV vaccine. When inquired her further as to how I can get the vaccine and test done as efficiently… and quickly as possible, she got angry, turned red and started talking in an extremely rude manner. It is clear that this doctor does not enjoy her job and may perhaps be in the wrong profession. As a student applying to medical school, Dr. Wen serves as a prime example of what a doctor should not be. She was uninterested in the patient, uninterested in helping the patient receive the care requested, and rushed the patient out after ten minutes. Avoid this doctor if possible.

Dr. Wen is very knowledgeable in her field, and I can trust her to make accurate diagnoses and prescribe the right treatments for my case. The wait time at the office was short, and office hours are flexible. I could tell Dr. Wen is serious about her work, and she's always careful to take down my history and medical information at each visit (hence spending more time behind the computer). But that way I know I can trust her completely to make the right decisions about my prescriptions. She does take some time to listen to my questions, address any concerns I have with my health, and always explains exactly why she's recommended a treatment. Maybe she could talk to me more during visits, but I appreciate her expertise, punctuality, and professionalism. I have definitely seen improvements in my health after switching to her and would definitely recommend Dr. Wen to anyone that wants a doctor you can trust to make decisions about your medical future.

does not have confidence to take on new patient with cancer issues. won't listen, told patient " i won't argue with you". I see now why there are so many holes in her schedule. USELESS

If it were possible to give 0 stars I would. Dr. Wen has by far the worst bedside manner I've ever experienced. She spends 90% of the appointment behind her computer. Instead of listening to what her patient has to say, she comes up with a plan by looking at past notes. 100% of my appointments have been referred elsewhere, which gives me the impression that she is incompetent in doing anything more than recommend vaccines. .. even the nurse does those. She always seems anxious to leave the room., can't be bothered to answer questions. .. etc. She is nothing more than a middle man. With most insurance plans not requiring referrals, don't waste your time with this lemon. PURE waste of time.

She is like a robot. Does not like to be questioned. No follow up. No apologies for lack of follow up. Likes to tyoe on her computer and has ABSOLUTELY NO BEDSIDE MANNER.

Dr. Wen is a very nice and knowledgable doctor. She takes time to answer my questions and address all my concerns. Great staff too.

A "no-fault" case.She had 3 appointments available today. I took one of them.We discussed my problem from the car accident. I then asked her about another problem that I had. I was told flatly that my 15 minutes were up and there were no other appointments to be had that day. I was referred to a "Doc in the box." Needless to say, I will no longer be using Buffalo Medical Group or her services.
